Private kimono photo shoot

What a fantastic experience! Keiko is so sweet and knowledgeable. She does it all, hair, styling, and photography. It was a whole family affair, her husband drove and grandpa made us tea and a treat before heading out to our photo shoot. We went to a gorgeous Japanese garden and a small shrine and Keiko took a ton of gorgeous pics. AT the end she came with us to our hotel to help us out of our kimonos. Such a special experience!!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for joining our kimono experience! We are truly grateful that you enjoyed your time with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. It was a real pleasure to meet you both. Spending time with such a lovely mother and daughter made the experience very special for us as well. Thank you again for choosing us. We hope our paths cross again someday! Wishing you all the best!

Lovely Kimono Experience

Keiko was so kind and friendly during our time together. She had set out several pieces for me to choose from after asking my preferences for color and patterns. She has quite the collection! Keiko was very meticulous as she fitted me in the kimono and explained the significance of certain patterns and different styles and she even had a folder with pictures to further educate you. You pick out every part of the kimono, I didn’t realize there were so many pieces involved. Then Keiko shows you a list of hairstyles she can do and does your hair as well. I thought it was very sweet that her father served me tea and her husband drove us around. She took dozens of photos of me and helped suggest poses because I’m clueless with posing in general. The photos turned out so nice! Keiko has a good eye for backgrounds. I had a really lovely time and learned so much. I went solo and felt so comfortable the entire time. I highly recommend this unique experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for joining our kimono dressing experience. We were very happy to help you with your first time wearing a kimono. The kimono looked absolutely beautiful on you. It was such a wonderful season, and we were able to take lovely photos together with the beautiful flowers. We were also very lucky to have such nice weather on the day, which made our time together even more special. Thank you again for your lovely review. We hope to see you again someday. Best wishes, Keiko

An excellent experience

Working with Keiko was such a wonderful experience. She was warm, attentive, and communicated clearly from the moment we connected through the end of the session. She did a beautiful job with my hair, and the photos came out even better than I expected. The setting had a cozy, personal charm that made everything feel intimate and authentic. What made it extra special was how much she genuinely enjoyed sharing her culture. I felt comfortable, cared for, and had so much fun. Oh… the matcha tea (especially prepared by her father in law) and the little matcha yōkan snack were delightful and delicious. I highly recommend Keiko and definitely will come back for another session. Thank you, Keiko, your husband and your father in law for an amazing experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for joining our kimono experience. I was very happy that we could do the photo session during such a pleasant season, with the beautiful cherry blossoms in bloom. Thank you also for your wonderful and thoughtful review. I would be truly delighted if this experience became one of your special memories of Sapporo. I sincerely hope to see you again someday.

Highly Enjoyable Morning & Great Value for Money

Pick-up from hotel on time via private car (arranged in advance) to kimono styling room. Choice of kimono and venue (we were lucky to get a break in the weather). Green tea served (a surprise). Photos taken professionally and sent the same day (can also take your own photos. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for joining our kimono styling experience and for taking the time to share such a kind and thoughtful review. We were delighted to hear that you enjoyed choosing your kimono and the photo session, and that the weather cooperated on the day. We are also glad to know that the private transfer, green tea, and professional photos met your expectations. It was truly an honor to be part of your travel memories. The kimono suited you beautifully, and we were very happy to spend such a wonderful time together, enjoying our conversations in Japanese as well. Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sapporo.

How much does Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist cost?

+

Prices start at $30000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sapporo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sapporo is not rushed.

Is Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sapporo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 16. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sapporo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sapporo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Kimono & Photo Experience with a Tokyo-Trained Stylist start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sapporo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sapporo?

+

On Outty we rank every Sapporo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sapporo Bar Hopping Food Tour, Wagashi traditional japanese sweets class, Sapporo Private Tour with a Local – Highlights & Hidden Gems. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sapporo?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sapporo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
