Great tour!
Both temples were amazing. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave a good history of the temples. Good value overall.

A lovely tour and felucca trip
Hamdy gave us an excellent tour around Karnak temple - he was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the fascinating history. The felucca journey to the temple was beautiful too and crewed by a very friendly team. The best-value tour we did in Luxor and definitely recommended!

Wrong tour - avoid
We booked Karnak Temple, with a felucca there and back (1 and 1/2 hour on boat in total). Both the driver and tour guide (who we met at temple) thought we were on a different trip completely. We had to explain multiple times but due to the language barrier it was not fully understood. There was no boat ride at all - we drove to and from the temple. This was extremely disappointing - we had only booked this trip because it included the boat. The tour guide had very little information, except for pointing out different symbols - there were no facts or background. It was very rushed and we nearly left without seeing major sites. She also took multiple phone calls during our guide. Karnak Temple is amazing but there is no need for this guide. We would have spent much more time at the temple on our own. Extremely disappointed. We paid for 1 and 1/2 hour boat ride which did not take place and was not an option when explained. I do not know what we paid for because a taxi to and from the temple would be very cheap. Complete waste of money. I would recommend avoiding this trip.

It’s a scam and tourist trap!
Do NOT book this tour! The description is completely different than what you actually get! Also, there is NO watching the sunset on the felucca. They offer to take you back in a taxi to your hotel! First of all, the “Felucca” ride was a regular boat. The ride itself is about 5 mins or less and then they keep you in the water stalling and making you dance so they can At the end ask you to pay them for the “show” they put up with you. They demand aggressively for a tip. I wasn’t expecting to pay anything additional, I didn’t have any small bill. Then my guy in a very RUDE manner told me I should carry small bills to tip them! Then at the temple while giving me the tour she had an attitude making real uncomfortable the entire time. She was obviously upset about the tipping situation. At the end of the tour, I was too uncomfortable with her (my guide) that I decided to decline the ride back to my hotel and decided to stay in the Temple to actually enjoy it. She kept insisting that I went back to some oil/perfume shop with her to show me some products but I didn’t go. She finally left me alone. I stayed around the temple, and then waited for the light show. Since I didn’t get to enjoy the Karnal temple after that bad situation with my guide, I decided to go alone on my own the next day and had a much better experience!

Great half day in luxor (kanak, luxor, and faluka)
We had a fantastic day with Remon. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable, he was also very good at adjusting our trip plan when the kids were overheating (they went to macdonalds in air-condition while some of us went to the luxor temple). Thank you for a great day, Remon!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Luxor.
How much does Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor cost?
+
Prices start at $23 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Luxor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Luxor is not rushed.
Is Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 40 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Luxor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Luxor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luxor and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Karnak Temple Tour by Felucca from Luxor start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Luxor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Luxor?
+
On Outty we rank every Luxor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Tour of Luxor West Bank Temples and Tombs (Private), Luxury Sunrise Balloon Ride in Luxor with Hotel Pickup, Luxor Day Tour: Valley of Kings & Queens & Hatchepsut Temples. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Luxor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Luxor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
