About this experience
The Jinshanling Great Wall is the most spectacular section of the entire Great Wall of China, bar none. I'm sure the National Geographic Channel must feel the same, as they chose the Jinshanling to film their Great Wall film. The Jinshanling Great Wall is about 2 hours drive from Beijing, the long distance makes it the off the beaten path and least crowded section of the Great Wall, making it popular among hikers and photographers. Visitors to Jinshanling can enjoy hiking along the wall, taking in panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, and exploring the ancient watchtowers. It's also a fantastic spot for capturing breathtaking sunrise or sunset photographs. Jinshanling Great Wall provides a glimpse into China's rich history and is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in exploring one of the world's most remarkable architectural wonders.I am sure you will leave a lifetime memory there.

Unforgettable Sunset Great Wall Tour
Yeah, I highly recommend the Great Wall Jin Shan Ling private tour at sunset. It was amazing! Our guide, Kai was outstanding, very knowledgeable, very funny, and he drove his own vehicle. He picked us up at our hotel and dropped us off after the tour. We thought the experience was a once in a lifetime event, and it didn’t disappoint! If you go to Beijing, you must do this tour!

Amazing Great Wall Tour
If you are looking for a private sunset tour of the Great Wall, look no further. I went out on a limb and booked this tour knowing there were not yet any reviews on Viator. I was so pleasantly surprised by just how well-organized and enjoyable the tour turned out. First, shoutout to CK, our tour guide, for being incredibly communicative and accommodating of our time. We arrived into Beijing South Railway Station at mid-day, and he was promptly there to pick us up so we could make the sunset in time. He waited for us to settle in, get food, etc., before driving us in a spacious transport van to the Jinshanling section. He spoke fluent English and made us feel welcome from the beginning. The conversation the entire day was great and insightful. He also was mindful we had had a long travel day and let us sleep and converse privately on the 2.5 hour trek there and back. Once we were at the Great Wall, he explained in detail the history of the Wall and the best vantage points to take photos. He took photos of my friend and me individually and together, making sure we were satisfied. During the sunset itself at the end of the tour, he stepped away so my friend and I could take it in alone. During that time, he created a slideshow video of our hike which was an awesome surprise. Note that this is a private guided tour unlike other Great Wall tours you may find. That means the guide will accompany you during the hike itself, not just drive there and back. This was perfect for us, as we enjoyed CK’s company, commentary, and incredible photography. As for the Jinshanling section, it is worth every minute of drive time from Beijing. It is the most private section of the Wall free from tourists after a couple watchtowers. Mutianyu and Badaling are closer to Beijing, but the views are not as good, and there are more tourists. This was my third trip to the Great Wall, and the Jinshanling section is the way to go for some epic views. After the tour, CK drove us directly to our hotel and communicated with the hotel staff for us since it was difficult to find. He assisted us with our luggage as well. I truly will treasure the memories from this tour forever. Thanks so much to CK for making a memorable experience for us in China.

How much does Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China cost?

How long does Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China take?
+

Is Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Jinshanling Great Wall Sunset Tour from Beijing China start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
