We will never know
Our family of 10 was left waiting, with no one to pick us up. When I called the company, they had no record of our reservation. When I called Viator, they talked in circles for an hour. Finally, apparently Viator didn’t send our reservation to the company despite charging me $1,400 two days prior to our booking. I am furious, now having to find something else for my family of 10 to do last minute. We plan in advance because planning anything for 10 people is difficult. Viator completely failed us. Maybe this tour is a great one, unfortunately this family will never know.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience, and we’re very sorry for the frustration this caused your family. We did not receive a confirmed reservation under your details in our system, which is why no pickup was dispatched. We understand how difficult this is for a group of 10 and how disappointing it must be, especially after being charged. Please follow up with the booking platform directly so they can review and resolve the reservation and payment issue. We regret the inconvenience and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Do not book this tour
Irresponsable and reckless to cancel our tour at 930 am when our pick up time was 9 am. and never advised us that our tour was cancelled. We had to contact Viator to find out that it was cancelled. An apology and that was it. Of course refunding us the tour.

BEST TOUR EVER! REQUEST ARLANE! YOU WON'T BE DISSAPOINTED!
Our tour guide Arlane was simply the BEST!. 5 stars is not enough to rate her. She was funny, knowledgeable and kept us informed and entertained the entire tour. By the end of the tour, she truly felt like a family member. I will remember Hawaii as one of our best vacations ever! and it is all because of our experience on this tour. THANK YOU ARLANE! I hope our paths will cross again. Many blessings to you!

Pearl Harbor tour with Barney
Barney was very knowledgeable, friendly and my group had a great time. Perfect way to see the memorial, be guided, transported and not have to stand in lines at the ticket counters. Barney loves his job and it shows! Great work, Mahalo

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Island Tour Up to 14 people: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Honolulu.
How much does Private Island Tour Up to 14 people cost?
+
Prices start at $1400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Honolulu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Island Tour Up to 14 people take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Honolulu is not rushed.
Is Private Island Tour Up to 14 people worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Honolulu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Island Tour Up to 14 people?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Island Tour Up to 14 people suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Island Tour Up to 14 people?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Honolulu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Honolulu and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Island Tour Up to 14 people start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Honolulu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Honolulu?
+
Honolulu and greater Oahu run on early starts. Pearl Harbor memorial tickets release on a fixed schedule, the North Shore circle-island loop needs a full day, and the catamaran and snorkel runs off Waikiki fill fast in season. We rank on whether the operator secures Pearl Harbor entry themselves and how tight the circle-island itinerary really is. On Outty we rank every Honolulu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kevo's Beach Bus Paddleboard Snorkel Adventure North Shore Oahu, Ultimate Pearl Harbor Circle Island, Full Day Oahu Circle Island -Turtle Beach Snorkel at North Shore. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Honolulu?
+
April to June and September to November, between the wet season and peak crowds. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Honolulu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
