Beware! Do not book this tour unless you want to get ripped off.
I hate writing bad reviews but I have to write to warn future customers. This entire experience was very disappointing. We booked this Nusa Penida tour because we saw the 40 x 5-star reviews. What could go wrong? How about everything. My husband booked this tour and we were picked up by a guy who took us to the harbor to catch the speed boat. First of all, we would’ve appreciated an email or message with a lot of things to bring, and itinerary of what the actual day would look like, and which boat company we were booked with. The guy who picked us up didn’t speak very much English and we’re Americans visiting Bali so we would’ve appreciated more details. After communicating confusion for 5 minutes, the driver finally showed me his cell phone screen and at the point I figured out which boat company to go to, but we had no clue that we were supposed to give our names since 2 seats were reserved for us (lack of communication #1). We arrived on Nusa Penida and looked though all the signs being held by guides but didn’t find our name until a bit later. Our driver/guide was late in picking us up but no big deal. We were walking to the car when the driver asked us to pay a “transit fee.” Thank goodness I took a screenshot of the TripAdvisor itinerary because it said everything was included. We continued to debate with the driver for a solid 10 minutes and attempted to contact Edy but his what’s app wasn’t working and when we tried to call, the phone was disconnected. Finally the guide said it was find and apologized for a miscommunication (lack of communication #2). We had lunch after the 3rd beach and thankfully I remembered that lunch was included. The waitress then asks my husband and I if we were going to pay separate bills or together. We ordered some extra appetizers and a drink so we understood that bill but the waitress then asked if we were going to pay for our guide’s lunch which was weird. We paid A LOT Of money for this tour so why would we pay for our guide’s lunch? We ended up paying for his meal because I didn’t want it to be awkward if we refused and we thought we were being nice but we both thought this was pretty shady and sleezy (Lack of communication #3) We proceeded to visit several beaches and had a great time getting beach time at Crystal Bay which was the best place in my opinion. We had to take little boats to the big boat because of low tide but the company was having motor issues so instead of leaving the island at 4:30 and arriving at 5:45, we didn’t arrive in Sanur until 6:30pm. Of course our driver who was supposed to pick us up wasn’t there. It would’ve been nice if the driver checked to see if the boat arrived. With a battery almost drained, we barely grabbed a GRAB car back to our hotel My husband messaged Edy who was quick to respond and we told him about the driver issues and paying for an extra lunch. I will say it was weird that the waitress was very good friends with our driver and chummy so maybe the restaurant was trying to scam us? We still don’t know who was trying to cheat us but it sucks when you just want to enjoy the island and have a good time and book through a tour company who you believe will take care of you. We didn’t feel taken care of at all. We would’ve been better off buying the boat rides ourselves and finding a guide on the island. We felt we overpaid for a complete lack of customer service. We would’ve appreciated more communication including what to expect and how to contact Edy such as WhatsApp number that actually works. We DO NOT recommend this tour at all. Future customers please be aware.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review. It is very helpful for us to improve our service in the future. Learning from your experience, We will try to improve for a better service in the future. Once again so sorry with the inconvenience and the tour beyond of you expectation. Wish you have a great day. Warmest Greetings, Edy and team

It was ok , but nothing outstanding
Overall the tour company was excellent in pick-up & drop-off but could of had more clear communication on the tour such as having to get out in the water & walk with your bags across rocky terrain to get to shore or that they would not be letting you off at dock in Nusa Penida but overloading a small boat to get you as close as possible then jump into water with your stuff & walk a shore through a lot of seaweed. Dressing appropriately for this is important along with the information to make best judgement as if you don't know how to swim, have seaweed allergy or anything else could change your mind. Also note the boat crew gives you no direction in case of issue on boat & speak no English so that is difficult. Once on the island tour guides speak very little English just the basics. The car was clean, had air conditioning. The road on the island is crowded but also very small & rough so it takes time to get to each location plus it does bounce you around. If you get car sick I would advise that you take meds. Each location you go to is very crowded. Majority of the tour guides & people do smoke, so if you have allergies or asthma please be prepared for it. My tour guide smoked without any consideration to me, which was disappointing. I at one point had to tell him not ok & please don't do it around me. Crystal Bay wasn't anything special just a beach you swim in, so if staying in Bali this isn't impressive at all. It also was fairly dirty. As some other places in & around Indonesia the bathrooms are very dirty, no TP & you have to pay to use them. I had 1 bathroom try to not give me my change back & had to argue that with language barrier but it was over half the cost of bathroom & frustrating they would just try to keep it. Other 2 locations are beautiful but over crowded with no organization. Also note some fun ways to take photos are set-up but they are for a charge per person so ask before just stopping to take photo. Tour Guide, got a little to friendly & asked about sending tours to him directly vs who I booked through which made for an uncomfortable situation. Also wanted to have some photos of me taken during the day for some reason but I said no that is not appropriate. The trip didn't take a full day for me so I took an earlier boat back as the island really didn't have a lot to offer & not set-up for tourist well. It was an ok day but honestly if could go back wouldn't chose not to do it.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seminyak.
How much does Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seminyak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seminyak is not rushed.
Is Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seminyak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour?
+
Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seminyak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seminyak and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Instagramable West Nusa Penida Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seminyak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seminyak?
+
On Outty we rank every Seminyak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan, Bali Instagram Tour: The Most Scenic Spots, Ubud Hot Springs and Waterfall Private Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seminyak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seminyak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
