Excellent Tour with Family of 6
My family and I (81 year old grandmother and three teenagers) took three personal tours with Johnny and had a great time. Both the adults and teenagers enjoyed the tours as well as the information Johnny provided about the Algarve. We wanted to visit the End of the World, Faro, and Silves, and Johnny recommended the best times to see these locations based on local whether conditions and so as to avoid large crowds. The vehicle was comfortable, spacious, and air conditioned. Johnny was on time, friendly, and always happy to answer any questions we had. His recommendations for restaurants and other activities apart from his tours were quite good and we had some very nice meals because of them. We would definitely recommend Johnny and will reach out to him again next time we visit the Algarve.
Response from the operator: Dear Okazumi, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review. It truly means a lot to me! It was an absolute pleasure to share my region with you and your wonderful family. From your amazing and curious and fun girls to your son´s and daughter in law questions about my beautiful region, the Algarve, every moment spent together was a joy. I’m so glad you all enjoyed the tours and found the experiences meaningful... from the End of the World to Faro and Silves. I loved meeting your family. I always do my best to make each tour comfortable, well-timed, and personal, so it’s great to know the planning and recommendations made your visit even more enjoyable. I am already looking forward to welcoming you all back to the Algarve one day! Warmest regards, Johnny ☀️🇵🇹

Full day tour around Lagos, Portugal.
Johnny (João) gave us an amazing full day trip to several gorgeous places around Lagos (where we were staying). We went up to Fóia, then on to Monchique, Albufeira, and finally Ferragudo where we enjoyed a lovely dinner. We enjoyed having Johnny to point out important historical locations and explain architectural and cultural changes over the years. Being from Albufeira, Johnny was exceptionally comfortable navigating his (well appointed) van through narrow streets and greeting the locals. Johnny gave us countless good tips for dining and shopping, as well advice on what to avoid. His good humour and charm was the icing on the cake. You really can’t go wrong with Johnny! We were thrilled with our day of exploring and learning about each area. What a treat!
Response from the operator: Dear Janice, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I am absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic day exploring the Algarve with me... Johnny ( yes my portuguese name is João ). I was in really good company. Please keep that good and positive vibe. From Fóia to Ferragudo, it sounds like you had an unforgettable journey, and that makes me feel so happy as my main goal is for you to be in loved by my beautiful region, The Algarve. I hope to welcome you back for more exploring in the future. Safe travels and happy adventures! Best regards, Johnny ( João )

Private Tour with Johnny
We had a fabulous tour with Johnny! He was so knowledgeable about his country and what we were seeing and so attentive to our needs. It was a great day driving from Logos up to Monchique the Albufeiro and Farragudo- smaller towns we wouldn’t have seen the service Johnny so competently provided. Such a fun day!
Response from the operator: Dear Kerry, Thank you so much for taking time to write your review. Muito Obrigado. Yes, the day was wonderful as also the weather was amazing... 18º to 19º degrees with lots of sun during February, that´s not bad at all. I hope you had an amazing stay in my beautiful region and I wish you all a safe flight back to Canada. It was a pleasure to meet you all. Warm Regards from the Algarve Johnny from Johnny´s Tours

The Best Algarve Tour
Johnny provided us with an incredible day in the Algarve! His passion for Portugal and its’ people and his knowledge of his country’s history and geography were both evident as he shared highlights such as Monchique and Silves with us. Johnny shared many interesting stories and was a wealth of local knowledge, both during and after the tour. I liked it so much, I’m now looking at booking a different tour next week with Johnny! Trust me - book a Johnny’s Tour for a truly unforgettable experience! 💯

Private Historical Tour in Algarve: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Albufeira.
How much does Private Historical Tour in Algarve cost?
+
Prices start at $171 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Albufeira usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Historical Tour in Algarve take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Albufeira is not rushed.
Is Private Historical Tour in Algarve worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Albufeira, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Historical Tour in Algarve?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Historical Tour in Algarve suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Historical Tour in Algarve?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Albufeira can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Albufeira and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Historical Tour in Algarve start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Albufeira within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Albufeira?
+
On Outty we rank every Albufeira experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dolphins Search and Benagil Caves from Albufeira, Benagil Caves Visit with Dolphins Watching from Albufeira, Half Day Tour with Jeep Safari in the Algarve Mountains. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Albufeira?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Albufeira?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
