French quarter tour

I would say the tour was good, sadly we didn't get the chance to go to the prison museum and the musoleum since it was close because of the holiday but overall our tourguide Puka and Nhat Linh was informative regarding the history of Vietnam.

Thrilled to See Hanoi through the Eyes of a Student

My guide, Nguyen Giang, was fabulous! Knowledgeable, friendly, personable, and deeply thoughtful, Giang tailored the tour to my specific interests. She was very generous with her time, showed me many sites, and gave me a thorough introduction to the French Quarter. I highly recommend both the tour and the tour guide.

An Amazing Old Quarter Experience with Emma

Last week, I joined a free walking tour in Hanoi and had the opportunity to explore the Old Quarter with my guide, Emma (Chau). She was incredibly helpful, friendly, kind, and fun to spend time with. She took me to Train Street and introduced me to the famous coconut coffee, which I really enjoyed. She also shared the history and stories behind Hoan Kiem Lake, making the experience even more meaningful. Since I only had one day in Hanoi, she kindly helped me make the most of my short visit. She even guided me to the station before I continued my journey back to the airport. I hope to return to Hanoi someday and meet Emma again. Thank you for the wonderful short tour and for your kindness. I am very happy to have met you and to have experienced the peaceful charm of Hanoi through your guidance. See you again, and I wish you all the best!

Amazing history tour with Kay

Amazing history tour with Kay – Outstanding hospitality! For my second tour in Hanoi, I explored the French Quarter with Kay from "Hanoi Free Private Tour Guide," who picked me up from the Marigold Hotel. Kay was an exceptional guide—charismatic, polite, and fluent in English. In just three hours, he showed me some of the most beautiful spots in the area while sharing captivating stories about Vietnam’s rich 1,000-year history. To experience this level of warmth and storytelling as a newcomer to Hanoi is just brilliant. Do not hesitate to book this service! I’m already looking forward to my third tour this weekend. Thank you, Kay!

5 stars experience

We had a wonderful experience exploring old quarter with Maiya and Jenny. Our kids (4yo and 8yo) who were with us asked for the guides again the next day because they had so much fun. Not only they were professional, flexible and kind to our kids, I appreciate that they bring so much cultural awareness and education without being stuffy. I learned so much about Vietnam even though I am Vietnamese myself. Thank you to these wonderful ladies for their kindness and expertise.

(Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.

How much does (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $5 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.

Is (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 117 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour?

+

Around 41 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does (Private) Hanoi French Quarter walking Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Hanoi?

+

On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Hanoi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Hanoi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
