Grateful
Timmy was very generous with his time. He has one of the most valuable assets in a guide and that is a passion for his work. We enjoyed his tour to the village immensely. We learned a lot about Vietnam in the process.

Horrible experience
Worst tour booked on viator. Horrible driver and a kid as a tour guide who has no knowledge about anything. Don't book this tour.

Not our thing, but our guide was great!
We thoroughly enjoyed our half day tour with Timmy to the Incense Village. We were able to see the sticks, dyed and drying outside giving us a beautiful backdrop for photos as well as how the incense is actually "attached" or "applied" to the bamboo stick for burning. Neither of us have Instagram so while we really enjoyed the tour and Timmy, we felt this wasn't necessarily something we would do again or fully recommend (we don't have Instagram type friends...) It was a long drive, beautiful and we got to see the countryside, but long drive for what the tour was. There were definitely people there who went solely for the 'gram (we truly hate those type of people...) to the extent one couple had a drone so they could get an aerial photo - mind you, the space is probably 100ftx100ft so even that drone felt excessive. (Those there for the 'gram didn't even do anything BUT outside photos. They didn't care how it was made, dyed, stored.) It's really a destination for those who want to pose for photos and that's about it. I'm giving it a five star review because the above is a lifestyle, we thought there would be more about the making but we were shown the entire process, it just wasn't long, but we truly saw the process AND had a great guide. He offered to be our photographer and while we did get a few photos, we had to emphasize we were there for the tour and not a photoshoot. Timmy was our guide and driver. After the incense village he took us to a classic Bun Cha restaurant - the Obama/bourdain one. It was delish and thought it was cool they boxed off their table as a relic. Again, not photo people but the whole thing was cool - we actually sat right next to their table. Timmy was not only informative about the village, but he gave us a nice tour during the drive and explained a bit when we ate. If we had known Timmy offered other tours we definitely would have considered them also. He was just a great guide.

Great short trip
A great way to experience the incense village, a great photo spot. We were picked up promptly in a clean car with an infant seat, and our guide Timmy added much to the experience with commentary and helped with the photos.

Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Half Day Tour to Quang Phu Cau Incense village from Hanoi start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
