A superb day in Chiang Mai

A superb day around Chiang Mai with Mr Tong and his excellent driver. He is so full of knowledge about the city. He takes time to explain each place and the history of the city. We had a wonderful time seeing the temples and sampling the street food. I can recommend him very highly. He will bring the city to life for you.

Response from the operator: Dear, Customer Thank you for your excellent reviewed we are very appreciated. Hope to see you for the next time . Best regards, Pimphaka

Excellent food tour and tour guide!

My guide Mr Tong picked me up and I had a variety street food from local vendors. Mr Tong was very friendly and welcoming. I tried the chicken liver, rice sausage, chiang mai sausage, khao soi, the Chiang mai yellow noodles! And some local sweets with coconut flavor among others and everything tasted great. He made sure everything was safe and authentic, it made the experience the best. He also took lots of pictures for good memories. I recommend this tour fully and I had the best tour guide in Mr Tong. Khop khun ka! Thank you!

Chiang Mai Walled City and Street food Tour

Ray was great! He and our driver Buun (sp?) were extremely accommodating and took us all around old town Chiang Mai, starting at the main gate to the ancient city and to all four corners of the ancient wall around the city. We also went to the Monument of the Three Kings and he was knowledgeable about all of the city's history, including specific historic dates and figures. We ended the night at the Sunday Nughy Food Market where Ray was able to use his local knowledge to get us all some delicious Thai and even Chiang Mai specific street foods. From there he dropped us at another street market and gave us forewarning about how to be as safe as we could be throughout our evening. Great experience!

Response from the operator: Dear, Customer Thank you for your excellent reviewed we are very appreciated. Hope to see you for the next time . Best regards, Pimphaka

How far in advance should I book Private Half-Day Tour The Old Chiang Mai City With Street Foods?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
