About this experience
The Coffee Tour - Jude's Signature. It's not about a cup of coffee, It's about the story behind it. Hanoi is famous among travellers and coffee lovers around the world for it's special coffee. It's different from the look, the taste and the way we enjoy it. What makes Vietnamese Coffee so special? Why it's so different from the rest of the world? The answer is within our culture, our history, our way of life. We use a METAL filter instead of a steam machine, we use condense milk instead of sugar, Robusta beans instead of Arabica, we sip the coffee instead of drinking it, we sit together instead of personal spaces. Everything make Vietnamese coffee so special. Walk with me, let me tell you the stories, let's appreciate the history together. Walk with me, enjoy our coffee.

Highly recommended
This is one of the very best tours I have been on. Jude shares his knowledge of the history of coffee and life in Hanoi. The Cafes we visited were very interesting. Jude even taught me to cross the road in Hanoi, he is the best with perfect English.

Look out coffee lovers.
I booked this tour for my husband who is a big coffee lover as a surprise while on our honeymoon. Jude was awesome it was like walking around town with an old friend. Jude took us to all the hidden coffee places and we had some of the best coffee we may have ever had. I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Thank you Jude for such an amazing experience and for showing us some real gems. If your a coffee lover then don't look past this tour.

Sipping Coffee with a Friend
Jude was awesome! The whole time we did the tour it didn't feel like we were walking with an audio recording. Everything went naturally and easily. Ever had that fantasy of walking around an ancient city discovering secret alleys, and nooks, and "searching" for the best coffee in town while having casual conversations about the history of said city and its ties to one of the world's best coffees with a local friend? That's how our tour was with Jude minus the searching part because he has already done the work for you! :) Hanoi is a charming city, hiding mysteries and secrets in it alleyways or 'fridge-like' houses while at the same time offering the best and strangest coffee experience you can have. Couple that with Jude's expertise and it's a coffee lovers dream come true.
Response from the operator: Awww Mechell! Thanks a lot for this heart melting reviews! You know my motto: next time we meet, i will be a lot better! Cheers

Amazing Coffee Tour
This coffee tour was so fun and informative. The tour gives you a real sense of how intimately the city of Hanoi and coffee are connected. Add in the fact that Le Huong/Jude is an avid coffee lover and a native Hanoian himself, and you have a recipe for the perfect authentic Vietnamese coffee experience. We progressed through 4 different cafés during the tour, each chosen for a unique contribution on offer that Huong highlighted as we went. From visiting the oldest café in Hanoi, to discovering the unique taste of egg coffee from the original café where it was first prepared, coffee lovers and curious sightseers alike will not be disappointed. Throughout the tour, Huong was happy to answer all our questions, and is knowledgable about a variety of topics, including coffee, Hanoi history, Vietnamese language, and more. He also gave us recommendations for new things to try and experience during our time here. Definitely recommend for anyone interested in learning more about Hanoi, coffee, and how they are connected.
Response from the operator: ADAMMM! Thank you very much! Hope to see you on every tour that i made! Your suggestions, opinions on this tour are very precious to me! Once again, thank you so much!

An awesome tour!
We had a blast walking around the city and drinking coffee. Our tour guide, Jude, took us to 4 different places, all around the same area so it wasn't too much walking. We tried a few types of Vietnamese coffee (egg, coffee with condensed milk, iced, etc) and loved listening to all the stories about the history of coffee and the history of the coffee shops. Pro tip: eat before the tour and drink your drinks slowly! The coffee buzz was real. It was a fun way to spend our morning and we learned a lot. Jude was gracious in answering all of our questions, even if it wasn't related to coffee.
Response from the operator: Hi Ash! You and Adam are lovely, gave me so many awesome suggestion on how to improve my tour! For that, i thank you! Hope to see you again on my tour

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Hà Nội Coffee History Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
