Fantastic experiences with awesome guides!
Our group of 8 had a great experience with That's It! on the Vranjaca Cave/Stella Croatica/Klis Fortress/Salona tour. Melinda picked us up at our hotel in the morning promptly on time, in a van perfect for our group. Vranjanca Cave is a hidden jewel and a must see. The host's grandfather discovered it 100 years ago, and the family has been operating and improving the cave and adjoining botanical garden ever since. Our group were the only visitors there, and the personal tour from the host was interesting and fun. The cave is large, deep (a LOT of stairs) and well lit, and the geological formations are fantastic. We were there for around an hour. Next we stopped at Stella Croatica, an "Agro-Park" where local agriculture is promoted and produce like olives, figs and lavender are converted into various products for sale. There was a short tour/introduction and then we were left to wander the grounds and visit the gift shop. There are lots of samples and we all wished we had bigger suitcases to bring more of the items home. We were there about 45min, we wished we had more time but we had alot planned for the day so Melinda hustled us off to the next stop... Which was Klis Fortress, kind of the headliner for the tour. Kristina met us in the parking lot and guided us up to the fortress (not alot of steps, but alot of uphill walking). The fortess is perched on a high peak. The views of Split and the surrounding area are amazing. Kristina shared a lot of history and information about the fortress and surrounding area. We learned alot about the history of Dalmatia and Croatia, and we had a lot of fun. The fortress was used in the filming of Game of Thrones, which was mentioned but not really a focus of the site or tour. We were at Klis for a little more than an hour. Kristina accompanied us next to the Salona, once the fourth biggest city in the Roman Empire, but now comprised of a few ruins scattered around the modern city of Solina. We visited the highlight, the amphitheater. The site is not very large, maybe the size of a small city park built into the surrounding village. But the feeling of walking the same ground and touching the same stones as 2nd century gladiators was amazing. The Salona tour was only about a half hour, but was definitely a highlight. We were able to connect this tour with the afternoon Biokovo Skywalk tour (just message the operator, "That's It!") . It made for a very busy day but was absolutely worth it, very highly recommend it if you've got a full day to spend. The highlight of the tour was...the tour guides. Full credit to Melinda and Kristina for herding our four rowdy not-quite-senior American couples around and keeping us happy, informed, entertained and on time. We had the best time getting to know the ladies, and they were both very accommodating and a lot of fun. They were very informative about the tour sites and the region, but we had just as much fun getting to know them personally, and we feel like we left some new friends in Croatia.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful and detailed review – it truly means a lot to us! We had such a great time with your group, it honestly felt more like spending the day with friends than work 😊 We’re so happy you enjoyed every stop, from the Vranjaca Cave and Stella Croatica to Klis Fortress and Salona – it’s always special to see guests experience both the natural beauty and history of this area. A big thank you as well for your kind words about both of us – it was a pleasure spending the day together, sharing stories, laughs and a bit of Dalmatian history along the way. It means a lot to hear that you left Croatia with good memories (and maybe a few new friendships too 💛). We truly hope our paths cross again one day – and who knows, maybe we’ll surprise you and visit your city as well! Wishing you all the very best and many more amazing adventures ahead. Warm regards, Melinda & Kristina

Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave cost?
+
Prices start at $329 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Guided Tour to Ancient Salona Klis Fortress,Vranjača Cave start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
