A FABULOUS PRIVATE TOUR OF MATERA!

I had seen on CBS morning news show a feature on Matera. I had not heard about it but it was so intriguing, I said one day I need to go there. Vito was the guide being interviewed and I wrote his name down and said when I go to Matera I will surely use him as our guide. So when we went this past June I contacted Vito and booked him for his three hour private Grand Tour. He picked us up at our hotel in Matera and gave us a wonderful walking tour of the city that included great viewpoints with breathtaking scenery of the Sassi. Vito was born in Matera and that adds so much to his tour to learn about his childhood living there. My husband loves history and adored spending time with Vito and listening to his amazing knowledge and passion of everything about the fascinating city of Matera. We learned about the the city’s evolution, from its ancient roots to its modern-day charm. He also told us about all the films that were made there that we enjoyed hearing about it. We went to a bakery and sat down at their cafe to hear more interesting stories. If you are looking for the absolute Best Guide in Matera be sure to use Vito. Thank you Vito for a fantastic tour. Grew up in Matera and it shows

Vito grew up in Matera, and the tour is better for it. He blends his own experiences with the older history and how the city has changed over his lifetime. He knows the alleys inside and out and kept us in the shade as much as possible, which matters in August. His English is great, so I'd definitely recommend him for English speakers.

Amazing Matera experience

Vito was a wonderful guide. My husband and I had a two hour tour of Matera with him and found our experience so meaningful. He is deeply knowledgeable about the history of the city and speaks with a lot of nuance and precision about both historical and more modern experience of living in Matera. Vito points out tons of tiny details around the city that we would have missed – from bones and fossils in the wall to clothes lines and left over paint and signage.
