Good intro tour of Montreal!
Thoroughly enjoyed our walking tour with Robert Bonsant as our guide. Had great discussions around the origins of Montreal, its history, culture, politics, and current state. Highly educational. Robert was gracious and took time to explain everything in detail and answer our myriad questions patiently. Only regret was that we could not explore much of Montreal Underground City due to paucity of time. All in all, a good intro tour to the city and a pleasure to stroll along in Robert’s company. Seamless booking and confirmation process as well - excellent responsiveness from Aglae’ Pinsonnault!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderfully detailed review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your tour with Robert Bonsant. He is an exceptional guide, and we are so glad his patient, detailed insights into Montreal’s history and culture made your walk so educational and enjoyable. The Underground City is massive, so we completely understand wanting more time there—it's the perfect excuse for a return visit! We will also be sure to pass your compliments along to Aglaé Pinsonneault for making your booking process so seamless. Thank you for exploring Montreal with us!

Best tour guide ever! Daniel
Guide was Daniel...excellent! Definite an asset to your company. Group was 10-12 people, he was well organized and new he had all English speaking visitors to his city. He shared just enough detail as he could have talked much longer but we would have run out of time. He answered individual questions on the tour and at the end stayed for those wishing more information. GREAT tour guide!

I will definitely pass your wonderful compliments along to Daniel—he will be so proud to hear that he was considered a true asset to our company. We are glad his organization, time management, and dedication to answering everyone's questions made the tour so enjoyable for your group. Thank you again, and we hope to see you on another tour in the future!

How much does Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour cost?

How long does Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour take?
+

Is Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Montreal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montreal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montreal and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Guided Old Montréal and Downtown Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Montreal within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Montreal?
+
On Outty we rank every Montreal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Old Montreal Walking Tour | Small Group (Max 10) | by MTL Detours, The Original Montreal Mural Arts Tour by Spade & Palacio, Montreal Mile End Food Tour with Bagel, Poutine and 7 Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montreal?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montreal?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
