Captain, where is Scotty? This Spaceship needs an Engineer!

We did the spaceship room. It is visually impressive and as you go through the bank vault door, you imagine you are in for something really special. The game itself was pretty disappointing. A few things were very rundown or broken. The game master had to come in to the room a couple of times to help us get something to work. Sometimes things break in escape rooms and as an enthusiast, you know that that's going to happen once in a while, but some of the things in here looked like they were broken and not getting fixed. You had the feeling that the guy knew that a couple of things just weren't working as they were supposed to be as he was very quick to offer help when he saw we were struggling. It is one of those situations where you feel that he was just apologizing for something not working rather than being able to fix the thing. One of the girls who worked on the cruise that we were on said that exactly the same thing wasn't working for them 6 months ago. That really really annoyed me!! It is a big non linear game so that usually suits us quite well, but there were just no aha moments. Everybody agreed that the room looked amazing , but there were just no puzzles that stood out for us or felt fun to do. It would fit in nicely as a visually impressive room with very average game flow with an over reliance on symbols, but I just hate the idea that something probably wasn't working in an escape room and nobody knew how to fix it. It just happens to be a bug bear with me. You only get one chance to do an escape room , and they are expensive, so it can be hit or miss. This one was a miss for us.

Great fun, can’t wait to do another one!!

Brilliant fun- we did it for our sons birthday - 6 of us 26-54 years and we all had a really great time solving the puzzles and racing the clock to save the planet from the Alien invasion. We did have 2 minor glitches when a door didn’t pop open like it was meant to but we still completed the quest with 4 minutes to spare!

Great kids birthday party!

My 11 year old daughter and her friends did Spaceship for her birthday party. They had a great time. Cool set up. Lots of different kinds of puzzles. Will gave just the right amount of support to keep them moving along and motivated to finish. I had a pretty good time too!

Response from the operator: Hi Kristina! Thank you very very much for leaving this review! We love hosting birthday parties and we are pleased to know that you and your daughter enjoyed it! We hope to see you back again for your next adventure! Maybe your birthday? Maybe hers again? Who knows! Either way, we will be more than happy to have you back!

Great puzzles. Great host.

Highly recommend Spaceship. Lots of non-linear puzzles, so if you get stuck you can work on something different to reset your thinking. 'Agent Jack' was fantastic. He was very good at giving hints that spurred our thinking rather than giving the puzzle away.

Great place for kids birthdays

Threw a birthday party for my 11yr old and 11 of his friends. The puzzles were challenging and fun, and the friendly and helpful staff made it an experience they won’t forget. Would definitely recommend for kids birthday parties.

Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Wellington.

How much does Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship cost?

+

Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Wellington usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Wellington is not rushed.

Is Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 49 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Wellington, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship?

+

Around 17 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Wellington can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Wellington and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Group Puzzle-Solving Adventure Game: Spaceship start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Wellington within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Wellington?

+

On Outty we rank every Wellington experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Experience Tour on Kapiti Island, Discover Wellington 3 hour City Tour, Martinborough Wine and Wild Coast Tour from Wellington. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Wellington?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Wellington?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
