Perfect private tour with an excellent guide

Everything was perfect from start to finish. Our guide and driver picked us up from our hotel right on time and we first went to Saqqara. There, we visited the Tomb of Kagemni, with its amazing reliefs, and then the Pyramid of Teti. Everything was explained extremely well by our guide Mohammed, an archaeologist who also speaks excellent Italian. We then visited the Serapeum, which was truly impressive, especially the huge stone sarcophagi inside. After that, we saw the Step Pyramid of Djoser, another unforgettable highlight of the tour. After a refreshing break, we continued to Giza, where we visited the pyramids and the Sphinx. What really made the difference was our guide: Mohammed explained the history, the details of the monuments, and the construction techniques in a very clear and engaging way. Another big plus was the fact that we visited at the end of June, so Saqqara was almost empty. It really felt like a private tour. No queues, not even for the entrance tickets: absolutely top! The only thing to keep in mind is that it is very hot at this time of year, but luckily there was a light breeze throughout the day, so we managed very well. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Grazie mille! Hope to see you again in Egypt.

5/5 ⭐ - An Unforgettable Cairo Experience with Mak!

Mak is the best guide in Cairo! I strongly recommend him to everyone. Our tour to Saqqara and the Pyramids was perfect and very well organized. From start to finish, the entire trip was perfectly organized. What really stood out was how personalized the tour was—Mak tailored everything to our pace and interests, making us feel like more than just tourists. He provided an unforgettable experience, blending deep historical knowledge with fascinating cultural insights. It wasn't just a tour; it was a deep dive into Egypt’s soul. If I ever return to Cairo, Mak will be the first person I call. If you want a seamless, professional, and truly personal guide, look no further! Thank you Mak see you soon!!

    Beautiful country!!

The tour guide was wonderful! The only reason that I’m giving it a three star is because we could not understand him!! He seemed to know a lot about what he was talking about. But there was such minimum communication because of his thick Egyptian accent. We speak English. Possibly the tour company did not realize that.

Response from the operator: Thank you. with my respect for your opinion .. yes, you are right, but we started our day late ,( 11:30 ) which makes me think about the itinerary schedule .. also Iam Egyptian my native language is arabic .. not : all the government officials close at 4:00 pm for Ramadan time .

Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Safaga.

How much does Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Safaga usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Safaga is not rushed.

Is Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Safaga, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour?

    +

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Safaga can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Safaga and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Giza Pyramids, Saqqara & Serapeum Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Safaga within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Safaga?

    +

On Outty we rank every Safaga experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Orange Bay Giftun Island Snorkeling Cruise With Lunch – Hurghada, Full day trip to Luxor with littel Group & Tutankhamun Tomb, Authentic Hurghada Experience with Private Guide & Local Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Safaga?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Safaga?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
