Not all advertised sites open
The library was the primary sight we wanted to see and it was on the advertised itinerary. When we got to the library it was closed. I brought it up to the tour operator and he asked me why it was closed like I am the one who is supposed to know that. I found out later through discussion with locals that it is always closed on Fridays. The operator not knowing the operating hours of the attractions is not good. If he would have told us we would have gone on a different day
Response from the operator: You did not show us your insistence on the necessity of visiting the library, & you did not inform us of the necessity of visiting it, but we are the ones who included it for you in the visit itinerary, & we did not inform you of the possibility that it might be closed because you booked the tour from us without including the tickets or the tour guide, just booking the tour by car only for the way there and back, so there is no problem at all because you did not lose the price of its tickets, and most of our clients in this case are satisfied with photographing it from the outside or exchanging it for another visit so why you not contact us once you get it closed, and for your information, on this day it is available to very few numbers, and if you had a tour guide with you, he might have prevented you from visiting it.

Great experiences
Mohammad and driver Ibrahim collected us from our hotel in Giza at 7am. Mohammad gave us history lessons, not just of Alexandria, but of ancient Egypt as well. He was informative, knowledgeable and verb interesting. He’d give us little pop quizzes along the way, which were fun. We went to many interesting sites and learnt much of the history of Alexandria. I would throughly recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review & we hope to see you again.

Excellent hassle free trip to Alexandria
This was the second trip I had arranged with Mohamed. The driver and guide picked me up on time and we made our way to Alexandria with a comfort break. The trip was great and everything I wanted. The guide was very knowledgeable and arranged all of the entries to the sites with his credit card (unlike the pyramid tour). Lunch was a lovely fresh fish buffet style meal in one of the back streets that we all ate together. Arranging such a trip takes all the hassle and messing about away and I would recommend doing it. You can tailor a lot of the trip as it’s flexible. Thank you Mohamed for your help in an Egypt.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review & we hope to see you again.

Alexandria - perfect 10 day
Amazing day in Alexandria. Our driver Mohamed safely got us to and from our hotel in Cairo. He was an excellent travel companion with my wife and I. We picked up Ayman, our local guide. Ayman was that perfect guide you hope you would get knowledgable, thoughtful of us, answered all our questions, great sense of humor, and deftly worked us around crowds to get private moments. Saw the catacombs, Pompey’s tower, the citadel and had a great lunch at the Fresh Fish market overlooking the historic harbor. A perfect 10 day.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review & we hope to see you again.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car cost?
+
Prices start at $48 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo by Car start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
