About this experience
Our first stop is at historical Thermopylae! Paying tribute to King Leonidas of Sparta and his 300 Spartan warriors, we will visit the amazing monument of his statue which is captivating! Next stop breathtaking Meteora! Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece and its hanging monasteries are one of the country’s most unique attractions. The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. They are built on top of rock towers and they provide fantastic views over the plain. The Meteora Monasteries themselves, besides providing incredible views are full of religious treasures, wall paintings, icons and libraries rich in old manuscripts. Everyday, innumerable visitors gather here from all four corners of the world to meditate and pray. The fascinating landscape was used when filming the Bond film “For Your Eyes Only” (Holy Trinity). +
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
