Best guide on the Island
Knew we needed to get off our Cruise ship ASAP and was in line at 530am to do so. Boy, was it worth getting up early as we had the run of Oia to ourselves. We had an early breakfast at Phyllon whose pastries and coffee were to die for. At the beginning of our excursion our guide said that he wasn't a tour guide but only a driver. We did book a private driver tour but as the day went on, our driver was one of the best guides on the Island. We wanted to have lunch on Black Beach so he said that he was going to drop us at his and his friends favorite place to eat and drink ( Nepiboaoe ).... Best meal of the 14 days spent touring Greece and Italy, Oh yea, the house wines are a must have. Try the grilled Octopus, it is sublime.

Great way to see Santorini
Our tour of Santorini was great. We flew in, and our driver was right there at the airport when we arrived. He then mapped out the day for us, and off we went. He set the timing so that we could avoid the cruise ship crowds and get the most of the sights. He was informative and helped us understand all of what we were seeing. We went from end to end and saw a lot of the island. For us doing a day trip, it was a fantastic way to see so much in a limited time.

Don’t do this trip in the off season
This review is nothing against the driver. I feel like he did the best he could with what he was given. But the company that this was through was not the best. I realize our experience might be unique but it was no way up to our expectations. When I booked this trip the company immediately text me through whatup to find out if I wanted to go to the archaeological site. That was one of the places we wanted to go. When we were picked up we were told that this sight was closed. I wish we were told this before but being told at pick up we couldn’t cancel the trip. But out of all the places we went to see black beach was the only thing we actually got to go to. We went to the look out of red beach (because the beach was closed), the monastery , lighthouse, all the shops in Fira were all closed. Then for lunch we were told this place was probably the only thing open. It ended up costing us $200 and that was ordering the cheapest stuff on the menu. It felt like a total set up at $50 a plate. Overall I felt like the company should have let us know a head of time that everything was closed. Then we could have chosen to do something else. Do not do this trip in the off season.
Response from the operator: Hi, thank you for your review. We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointment. As we explained during your stay, and as you could also see yourself, the island was unusually quiet — not only because of the off-season period but also due to the difficult situation caused by the recent earthquakes. We appreciate your understanding and thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback

Poor experience
Guide was late and then difficult to find. He did not seem to really listen to where we wanted to go and what we wanted to do.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify a few points regarding your experience. Your booking was made several months in advance, with an arrival time noted as 13:30 from your cruise ship. In most cases, cruise passengers arriving at this time usually reach the meeting point closer to 15:00, after taking the tender boat, the cable car, and walking into Fira. For this reason, it is very important that guests inform us once they are at least at the cable car, so we can be sure you are on the way. In your case, we received your message only after you had already arrived at the meeting point. Despite this, we were able to pick you up by 14:15, so the waiting time was not very long. During the tour, you requested some places that unfortunately were closed (such as the supermarket on Sunday) or that you later decided not to visit (such as the brewery). You also extended your stay at the Black Beach, which gave us less time for other activities, and in Oia you asked to leave after a short visit. Since our tours are flexible, we always do our best to adjust to guests’ wishes, but it is important that we receive this information in advance so we can plan accordingly. In the end, you actually had more available time, but you preferred to return earlier, which is always your choice. We apologize if the experience did not fully meet your expectations and appreciate you choosing our company to explore Santorini. Your comments help us improve, and we wish you all the best in your future travels.

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santorini.
How much does Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach cost?
+
Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santorini usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santorini is not rushed.
Is Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santorini, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santorini can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santorini and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full-Day Santorini Tour | Oia, Akrotiri & Black Beach start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santorini within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santorini?
+
On Outty we rank every Santorini experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Premium Catamaran Cruise in Santorini including Oia, Private Santorini Tailor Made - Choice of the Guest!, Private Classic Santorini Panorama: Visit Top Destinations. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santorini?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santorini?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
