Excellent service, post cruise 8 hr tour and transfer to hotel plus 4 hr tour and transfer to airport
There was not a category on the list for the service we had. We were picked up post cruise at the terminal, taken on an 8 hour tour of Rome and brought to our hotel. Next day we were collected from the hotel, taken on a 4 hour tour, and brought to the airport. This is the email I wrote to Fattori after our tours: We are back home in the states and I wanted to take a moment to write regarding our experiences with your company. We were so very happy with the way that our driver Claudio took care of us during our stay in your beautiful city. Although we were late in getting off the ship due to long lines and the immigration process, Claudio was waiting for us when we left the terminal building. The van was very comfortable, Claudio took care of our luggage, and had chilled water for us to drink. Once in the car (van) we were able to figure out how to communicate with the translator apps, and had no difficulty understanding each other. We had never been to Rome or anywhere in Italy before this trip, so I asked Claudio to please show us his city, and to take us to the places that he would want to visit, if this was his first time in Rome. On our first day, we saw so many beautiful sights and so much incredible architecture and history. There was a lot of car and pedestrian traffic, so it wasn't possible to get us close to a few of the sights we wanted to see. Whenever we got out of the van to visit one of the monuments or sights, Claudio made sure we knew how to get there and how to get back to where he had parked. At the end of the day, he brought us to our hotel and helped with our luggage. We had a wonderful first day in Rome, and felt that we had absolutely made the right decision by using your company's services. The next afternoon, Claudio returned to the hotel to collect us for another tour and our transfer to the airport. We were very happy so see that he had been assigned to us for the second day as he had been so very helpful the day before. We had some additional places we wanted to see, and he got us everywhere we wanted, plus some places we had not seen the first day. Our tour complete, he then delivered us to the airport for our flight home. Although we had never been to Rome before, the time Claudio spent introducing us to his city helped us to really enjoy our short visit. We love your city and plan to return to spend more time there. We are very happy and satisfied with our decision to use your company during our visit. Claudio represented your company and his city so very well - very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. When we return to Rome we will again reach out to arrange your assistance, and if any of our friends or families are coming to the area we will absolutely recommend your services. You made our stay in your city so meaningful, and we appreciate and thank you. Please feel free to share this email as you see fit.

Rome Private Driver and Tour 7 Hours
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our ship ported in Civitavecchia, about 1.5 hours from Rome, and booking with FATTORI Car Service was the best decision we made. Our driver, Ando, picked us up promptly at 8 AM and stayed with us until 3:30 PM, giving us plenty of time to see the highlights of Rome without feeling rushed. The cost was €600 total for our group, and it was worth every cent. Ando was professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make the long drive comfortable and enjoyable. Thanks to him, we were able to maximize our time and truly enjoy the Eternal City. Absolutely amazing service—we highly recommend FATTORI Car Service and especially Ando!

Get Uber Black Vans next time in Rome!
Unacceptable experience, especially for $1200USD. Viator you need to do better. Terrible communication. We messaged 3 times before the day that we needed a 8:30am start and not 8am. Zero confirmation or response. Our 8 hour “clock” started early. The first driver was very pleasant, organized, could speak English, and had a very nice van. Unfortunately, his owner didn’t properly register the van and was pulled over by police and unable to finish our tour at our second stop of the day. We had to wait 45 minutes while they located a second van, which changed our entire day. The second van was old and not air conditioned. The second driver couldn’t speak English and couldn’t understand the information regarding the rest of the day. Unfortunately, our phones died and we couldn’t receive calls or text from the operator towards the end of the day. We had to get Uber vans after our last stop as the van was off duty. In a compact city such as Rome, I wouldn’t waste your money on a private car. Many of the sites can be seen by walking. The investment would’ve been worth it if we could’ve communicated with our driver or if it came with some basic history or information about the city. We have hired private drivers in 6 other cities and always been very happy/felt it always exceeded our expectations. This one was a miss!!
Response from the operator: Dear Lori, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations — however, we must clarify several points to ensure an accurate picture for future travelers. First and foremost, the tour had a fixed pick-up time at 8:00 AM, as clearly stated in the Viator listing. We did not receive any messages or requests via the Viator app or platform to modify the start time to 8:30 AM. Our driver was present and waiting on time at 8:00 AM at your hotel, and your group came out only at 8:40 AM. That was absolutely not an issue for us — as the service includes 8 hours of private disposal and you're free to manage that time as you wish. However, the ending time of the tour remained at 4:00 PM, which matches the 8 hours booked and paid for. Regarding the vehicle change during the day: it is not true that the vehicle was unregistered or not compliant. The driver was stopped by the local police because he hadn’t renewed a professional driver permit, and for that reason, he was asked to return. To ensure your tour continued smoothly, we sent another identical deluxe van as quickly as possible — it arrived within 15 minutes while you were visiting the Trevi Fountain, so your itinerary remained on track. The second van was in perfect condition, fully air-conditioned, and not old as claimed. The second driver, although not fluent in English, was extremely polite and professional, and he took you directly to your next scheduled tour at the Vatican, which was planned to finish at 3:30 PM. As per your schedule, you were to return to the hotel by 4:00 PM. Despite this, our driver waited for you until 5:00 PM, an hour beyond the service paid for — even though you were unreachable by phone, and did not respond to any of our calls or messages. Finally, you mentioned your phone battery had died, but you were still able to call an Uber? This inconsistency raises concerns and makes us wonder whether this review — and the tone of it — might have been motivated by a desire to obtain a refund, rather than by the actual service delivered. We work hard to deliver high-quality, professional services, and we respect all feedback — but we also believe in fairness and honesty. Your review unfortunately does not reflect the true course of events. Warm regards,

Why this scores 45
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver cost?
+
Prices start at $1302 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full Day Rome Tour with Driver start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
