To start the day, our private guide picks you up at your place and drive to the beginning of the trail about 1:20 away from the main part of Rio, in the West area of it. Since It’s a distant place with a large flow of visitors, it’s essential to start the Pedra do Telégrafo trail very early to avoid long lines and waits for the famous pictures on it. We then go uphill towards to Telegraph Stone which is a rather steep trail, but nothing that needs to be climbed. The trail has a length of 1,5 km and lasts around 50 minutes at a normal pace.  Looking at the horizon and enjoying a little bit of Rio de Janeiro leaves your energies renewed and your eyes enchanted. Too worth the visit!

    2. Right after doing the trail, have a fantastic lunch at a naturally rustic seafood restaurant set in a tree house in the rainforest. The scenery over the sandbank fills the eyes, seeing the mangrove with its islets of abundant vegetation and beach views as far as the eye can see. (Lunch is not included in the tour price)

Early morning Pedra do Telegrafo hike

This was such a great experience with Gregtur tours. Our guide Henry was very friendly and went at a great pace for us in the hike. We would have been lost without him! We went early (got picked up at 6am) and there was already a short line for photos at the "cliff" so defs get there early. The hike there was gorgeous in itself. Afterwards he took us to a beach in the area which was gorgeous and had cute lookout points too. It was pretty much only locals and actually felt much safer than the main beaches in Rio- we loved it. I highly recommend going with Gregtur tours for a private tour to the area.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 😊 We're thrilled to hear that you had a great experience with Gregtur tours and that Henry was an excellent guide for your hike. It's fantastic to know that you enjoyed the beautiful hike and the local beach. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back on another adventure soon! 🌟🌴🏞️

    Amazing hiking tour

The hiking experience was amazing, the Guaratiba area is full of beaches, rich nature,it takes about 50 minutes to reach the top of the mountain and the view from there is unique. The guide Ana Nascimento was outgoing and she knows very well the area, she showed me some of the animals and views there around.i really recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind words and most importantly for trusting us on taking you to visit the telegraph stone. This encourages us to keep working hard for the future. We wish you well and hope to greet you once again here in Rio. Yours sincerely, Gregtur Team

Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rio de Janeiro.

How much does Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included cost?

    +

Prices start at $267 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rio de Janeiro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rio de Janeiro is not rushed.

Is Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rio de Janeiro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rio de Janeiro and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Full-Day Hike Tour Telegraph Stone and Beaches – Transport Included start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rio de Janeiro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedra da Gávea hike, your best experience in Rio, Favela Tour Rio de Janeiro - Vidigal Walking Tour by Russo Guide, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
