Fantastic day
Nicola brought us to the lovely lake Ohrid, the city Ohrid and it’s surroundings. He was truly amazing in his knowledge of Macedonia and Yougoslavia and it’s history. He is a very enthusiastic guide, with a lot to tell about present and past events and very willing to share his insights and experience of the leading families of the region. Fluent in English (among many other languages such as German and Italian). He was happy for all our questions, answered them in detail and asked for more. He is also a polymath, thanks to his curiosity driven by intellectual interests. Highly recommended.

One of those “don’t miss it” destinations
This is such a spectacular place, I’m so glad I had the time to do this trip. The churches and village are so beautiful, and the lake itself is just stunning—a landmark destination that you won’t want to miss. It happened to be 40c that day, but my guide made adjustments in the itinerary so I wouldn’t overdo it and pass out from the heat! She was just great! And by having a private tour, I was able to have really meaningful conversations with my guide and make a new friend. A long but memorable day.

Thoughtful, beautiful tour
What a fantastic day. This private full day “Best of Ohrid” tour from Skopje was an absolute delight. From the moment we set out, our guide was the perfect blend of professional expertise and warm, friendly charm. She effortlessly navigated through the beautiful sights, sharing fascinating stories that brought the history and culture of Ohrid to life. What made the experience especially meaningful was her willingness to share honest insights about everyday life in Macedonia. She answered our questions thoughtfully and openly, which gave us a deeper appreciation for the country beyond the typical tourist perspective. The tour moved at a comfortable pace, with plenty of time to take photos, explore, and soak in the atmosphere. Every stop felt thoughtfully planned, and the whole experience ran smoothly. At the end of the day, it started to rain heavily. Without hesitation, our guide walked all the way to her car in the downpour just to pick us up and keep us dry. That level of care really stood out. Highly recommend this tour. It was well organized, visually stunning, and made even better by a guide who truly went above and beyond.

A great way to get a flavour of this ancient city.
This is an excellent way to visit Ohrid if you only have a day to spare. Although a long day involving a lot of walking the day is not rushed and enough time given to fully appreciate the sights of interest. The guide Elena is superb: informative, ensuring the comfort of her passengers and delivering with a great sense of humour. I would point out that Ohrid is very hilly and the old streets and steps awkward if like myself you have even minor mobility issues. That said the Elena made sure I was safe and able to keep pace and it should not deter anyone as long as care is taken The transport is a very comfortable, air conditioned mini bus. I would throughly recommend this trip.

Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Skopje.
How much does Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje cost?
+
Prices start at $154 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Skopje usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Skopje is not rushed.
Is Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Skopje, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Skopje can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Skopje and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Full-Day Best of Ohrid Tour from Skopje start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Skopje within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Skopje?
+
On Outty we rank every Skopje experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking In Skopje, Skopje: Canyon Matka, St. Pantelemon, Millennium Cross & Brunch, Group Tour from Skopje:Millennium Cross,Matka Canyon&Etno Village. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Skopje?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Skopje?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
