Guide of laughter, enjoyment & safety!
In Vietnam’s embrace, memories entwine, Through bustling streets, her laughter divine. Amidst photos clicked and tales spun, A pure soul shines, protecting, and fun. With each bite savored, her appetite grand, Yet caring and wise, by my side she’d stand. Guarding from scammers, negotiating with grace, In her warmth and guidance, I found my place.

Exploring a new city with a trustworthy guide that knows her stuff!
Had a great tour with Kathy. She was very professional but also warm and kind. Was willing to work on our time schedule, would go the extra mile to make things go smoothly, whether it is getting a Grab taxi using her own account or interacting with other locals on our behalf. Just as important, Kathy was very knowledgeable regarding the history of Hanoi and Vietnam in general. She also knew some great restaurants to get pho or some egg coffee or places just to hang out and rest between doing the walking tour. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to explore the Old Quater of Haboi.

Hanoi and Ninh Binh
I spent 1 day in Hanoi and 1 day in Ninh Binh with Kathy. She is an excellent guide who speaks good English and is very knowledgeable on Vietnam and its history. I strongly recommend her to you as she will make your trip so very interesting.

Vietnam made better because of tour guides like Kathy :)
I would like to say "Thank you so much Kathy" for everything. You truely made the part of the trip in visiting Vietnam one of the highlights for myself and my family. Backstory - a few weeks before I hurt my ankle and found it very hard to move about. For me this was quite sad, due to a trip of a lifetime with my family being hindered. Kathy was able to turn that frown upside down, and help organise on the day a range of different activities for the next 3 days for us, and gave myself and my family a fantastic experience. Kathy your kindness, knowledge and personality really shone through and helped to make everyone in the family feel really welcome. You took the time to explain the rich heritage of Hanoi and Vietnam to us, which was really nice. Thank you so much for everything, and I wish you the best!

Best guide in Hanoi
Kathy was simply fantastic as a guide, starting with exemplary communication leading up to my trip, Kathy organised multiple tours in and around Hanoi, including Sapa, Ninh Binh and of course Hanoi, here organisational skills ensured all trips went without a hitch and her local knowledge meant I experienced the real Vietnam, not just the tourist spots. Throughout Kathy was kind and considerate and was a real pleasure to talk to. Book Kathy and you won’t be disappointed.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private French Quarter Tour with Locals: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Private French Quarter Tour with Locals cost?
+
Prices start at $23 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private French Quarter Tour with Locals take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Private French Quarter Tour with Locals worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private French Quarter Tour with Locals?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private French Quarter Tour with Locals suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private French Quarter Tour with Locals?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private French Quarter Tour with Locals start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
