Happy hour-style fun and educational too

We were fortunate to also have Mihaela as a tour guide for this tour. She was outstanding- highly knowledgeable about the cuisine of Venice and general background, and presented a fun and entertaining “happy hour” style tour that we throughly enjoyed. Buccala and Spritz Select were new treats for me!

    Beautiful culinary hours

Again, Lorenzo guided us in a very personal way through the culinary tradition and fashion of Venice. This time we went through several little Bacari to enjoy Cecchetti and wine.

Great way to experience cichetti culture in Venice

If you want to try authentic cichetti in Venice but don’t know where to start, this is the tour for you. Giovanni took us to three local spots, none of which felt touristy. All the cichetti and wines were delicious, and all three spots showcased different styles and specialities. Giovanni was extremely friendly and we enjoyed talking with him about Venice’s culinary culture as we slowly made our way from stop to stop. All cichetti and wine is included in the cost of the tour; Giovanni gave us recommendations but left the decision of what to order up to us.

    Wonderful tour for us!

Nicola was outstanding in showing us around, especially since this was our 4th excursion and second food tour in Venice. What a personable young man and fun guide! He changed a couple of venues for us due to our food preferences. This was our favorite tour!

Response from the operator: Hi Laurie_K, I'm very happy to read you loved Venice and its food from this new and local perspective. Thank you again! Arrivederci,

    Individual wine & food tour

Overpriced tour for a tour of 3 neighborhood bars with the same appetizers. Tour guide was nice but seemed like he was in a hurry to get the whole thing over with. Appetizers were all the same, bars were overcrowded, appetizers consisted of bread with different toppings.

Response from the operator: Dear Mary, Thank you for your feedback. The taverns we visit are the most important ones for locals and if they have some extra clients than a touristy spot it's actually a good sign because it's good. Cichetti are a Venetian tradition, it's nothing like going to pub in Ireland or in Berlin where you take a seat and order a beer and that's it. The local and AUTHENTIC places are very small and we enjoy food and wine all together and the majority of the time we stand next to the doorway chatting and drinking with our friends/family. The Cichetti have a specific "format" and yes they are slices of bread with different toppings, something that is pretty clear in the pics and description of the tour so we don't understand how this is something to complain about. Each tavern has a different recipe even if they are making the same topping so that's the cool thing about moving from place to place. If you were not into bread you could have let us know and we would have found a way to taste something different. We try our best to only have 100% of happy clients so we hope to welcome you back and fix this misunderstanding.

Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine cost?

    +

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Food Tour: Cicheti & Wine start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
