The Karnak Temple
As the largest temple complex in Egypt, in Karnak, a village about 2.5 km north of Luxor and directly on the eastern bank of the Nile. The oldest building remains of the temple still visible today come from the 12 dynasty under the Pharaoh Sesostris. Outstanding among the ruins are the Temples of Amun-Re with a total of ten pylons. The total area of the temple is about 30 hectares. The largest area of the temple complex is the Amun district. Among other things, you can see the holy lake, the red chapel, the white chapel as well as the alabaster chapel and the temple of Opet. Of course, there is a lot more to explore in the Karnak Temple.

Valley of the Kings
The Valley of the Kings was a necropolis in ancient Egypt. In ancient Egypt, the Valley of the Kings was called Sechet-aat (the great field). It is the largest necropolis of the Egyptian pharaohs. The tombs of the rulers of the new empire can be found in the Valley of the Kings. The valley is located in Thebes-West, opposite Karnak on the edge of the desert and is lined with high mountains. Despite millennia of activity of excavations and looting, the Valley of the Kings still provides Egyptologists with numerous extremely valuable grave finds. In 1922, the tomb of Tutankhamun was discovered largely intact by Howard Carter. The first clearly identified tomb in the Valley of the Kings comes from the Pharaoh Thutmose I. With Napoleon's expedition to Egypt the systematic search and opening of tombs began. In the Valley of the Kings you will visit three selected tombs.

Colossi of Memnon
The Colossi of Memnon are two colossal ancient Egyptian statues from the 14th century BC. You are in the Nile Valley not far from the Valley of the Kings in Thebes-West. The quartzite statues represent King Amenhotep III sitting on a throne. The statues are still around 18 meters high, including the base.

the mortuary temple of Hatshepsut dates from the 18th dynasty and is the best preserved temple in Thebes on the west bank of the Nile. The entire temple complex was built from limestone. This temple was built within about 15 years, from the 7th to the 22nd year of Queen Hatshepsut's reign. The temple has its own idiosyncratic architecture.

Trip to Luxor
We had a really great and unforgettable trip to Luxor! The pickup from the hotel by bus was already very well organized. Even though the drive was a bit long, everything was pleasant and relaxed. In Luxor, we visited various temples, the Valley of the Kings with its impressive tombs, and took a beautiful boat trip on the Nile. The whole day was varied and very well planned. A special shout-out goes to our tour guide Markus. He took excellent care of us all day, told us a lot about the history and culture of Egypt, and explained everything in an understandable and interesting way. His tips on how to interact with locals and vendors were also especially helpful, so we felt well taken care of and safe at all times. You can tell that Markus brings a lot of experience and knowledge to the table and that it is important to him that his guests have a wonderful day. Despite the long day, the atmosphere was always pleasant and relaxed. Many thanks to Markus for this great day in Luxor! We can definitely recommend him and the tour! 🇪🇬☀️

An unforgettable tour to recommend
A very successful and well organized excursion. The program included: happy getting up, 4 h car ride into the sunrise and into the Nile Valley, Karnak temple, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple (Alternative Habu temple), small Nile boat ride, lunch and 4h minibus back. A long but rewarding day. Our private tour was accompanied by the safe and very friendly drivers Mohamed and Ahmed. The tour on site was conducted by the German-speaking guide Markus. There was much to learn and all questions were answered patiently. The tickets were already available so you could save yourself a long queue. We were enthusiastic about the millennia-old well-preserved inscriptions with partly still original color. Oh, hell. An unforgettable tour to recommend.
