What you get
About this experience
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a day and embark on a trip to Krka National Park – because let’s be honest, who doesn’t need a little nature therapy? Wander along wooden paths, listen to the soothing sound of waterfalls, and take in the stunning scenery. It’s the kind of experience that will make you want to stop and take a picture (or five) every few steps. You’ll also have the chance to explore the charming little village of Skradin. It’s the kind of place most people zoom past on their way to Krka, but once you set foot here, you’ll find yourself falling head over heels. We bet you’ll vow to come back and stay a little longer next time. And for those who love to indulge, you’ll get to enjoy a delicious traditional Dalmatian lunch. Think fresh local ingredients and mouth-watering flavors. On your way back, we’ll make a stop at the historic Klis Fortress. Perched high above Split, this medieval gem offers incredible views and a chance to step back in time.

Joseph - the extremely unprofessional guide!
Krka Waterfalls are beautiful, but the tour wasn’t enjoyable. We spent too much time just waiting around, and think your time would be better spent arriving when the park opens, and exploring yourself to avoid the crazy crowds. The biggest disappointment though, was our guide Joseph. This middle aged man told us more about himself, than he did about the park or Croatia. He was totally inappropriate with many of the young women on the tour ( kissing a couple, commenting on appearance’s, and generally making a lot of us uncomfortable) In what I believe, was his attempt to connect with us, but was delivered with his inflated ego, and a total lack of understanding on how to behave professionally, Joseph needs a lesson in modern day manners. I sincerely hope management address these issues with Joseph, as they are totally unacceptable

Great day!
We had very nice time on the tour. The nature is so beutiful an the concept of the tour with free time in Krka waterfalls and Skradin is realy good arranged! We will recoment to all our friends and family to go on this tour whit this company since they do small groups whith great guide! We had an oportunity not only to find out everything about Krka waterfalls, on the way we heard so much about Croatian and Dalmatian history what was so interesting. Free time in Skradin and visit to Klis fortress is aditional plus to this tour where you get to enjoy very beautiful places and extraordinary views!

Do not book a tour with Joseph.
Would not fault the park, BUT our tour guide Joseph was nothing but sleazy. He kissed myself and my partner on the cheek without permission and without any warning. It made us extremely uncomfortable, luckily there were other traveler’s on this tour to make us feel a bit safer around him. As well as this he continued to ask another girl on the tour if she was married and if not then to stay in Split to marry him. He complimented young girls on their looks and even girls who weren’t on the tour! He made no attempt to inform anyone about Croatia or about the tour itself. I did however learn that his ex wife left him and that he used to be “a millionaire”. Joseph was also extremely patronising to the non-english speakers on the tour. All of this was picked up by everyone on the tour as we all discussed feeling uncomfortable around Joseph. I hope this comment reaches management as i certainly wouldn’t think they would agree with their staff acting this way. If you are looking to visit the Krka National park definitely do just with another company!

Lovely park. Creepy tour guide
Park it’s self was lovely. Our tour guide however, made myself and a lot of others on this trip uncomfortable with many comments about the women on the trips appearance. He also had kissed two young teenage girls on the cheek without consent, and they were visibly very uncomfortable with this. He made a few racial comments as well and very sexist remarks through out the whole trip. When we were waiting for the boat to take us to the beach, Joseph the tour guide had invited two very young girls onto our tour who weren't a part of the group. So if you are thinking about doing this trip, I would do so but try to go with someone else instead of Joseph.

Amazing tour and guide , 100% recommend
Me and my friends had the best time on the Krka National Park trip. Our tour guide Joseph was amazing, so knowledgeable about Split and could answer any question we had! He made us all feel at ease with his positive spirit and we all had a great day. The park itself was beautiful and we enjoyed the fact we had our own free time walking round the park rather than following our guide. We had plenty of time at each spot , including the park, the small town of Skradin and then the Klis fortress at the end was a great addition! Would recommend this tour to anyone visiting and was really good value for money! Thanks from us all!

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress cost?
+
Prices start at $1770 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Escape to Krka Waterfalls with Klis Fortress start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
