    Best tour guide ever

Elite Tokyo tours with Kamn(sp) was fantastic. If you need a perfect English speaking guide who is passionate about Tokyo this is the right guy. Through his partner Roy they listened and designed the perfect tour for us. Great information, excellent choices for sites and an overall wonderful tour. Kahm picked us up at the cruise port in a luxury SUV, took our luggage and we did Tokyo. We saw a beautiful temple and shared all of the traditional experiences a worshiper would with his on point explanations. We shopped, even stopping at Mikimoto on the Ginza strip. We ended our short stay with a lunch at a nice Sushi restaurant. He then dropped us at Narita for our flight home. Interestingly, Kamh is originally from NY City. He lives in Tokyo and truly I wish we could have someone as outstanding as he was on all of our tours. Great job.

    Relaxing Send-off After Our Cruise

Our cruise ended in Tokyo with mandatory disembarkation 7 hours before our flight home. Rather than sit at the airport for so long, we hired Roy to show us highlights of the city that were not on our earlier tours. With our luggage safely stored in his SUV, we were able to see cherry blossoms at their peak, and visit a shrine and anime area we had missed. Roy had a great idea to stop at a 400 year old garden (Happo-en) with bonsai trees and beautiful ponds and shaded views. He even helped us shop for our granddaughters before dropping us at the airport. His service was above and beyond, communication including booking and pickup was perfect. Overall, this pre-departure adventure was money well spent. It added to our special memories of Japan.

Best Tokyo Guide – Roy from Elite Tokyo is Incredible

Roy from Elite Tokyo is hands down the best Tokyo guide we could have asked for. Before our trip even started, Roy worked closely with us to plan exactly what we wanted to see and experience. His knowledge of Tokyo is unbelievable—restaurants, temples, neighborhoods, shopping, hidden gems—you name it. Having a private Tokyo guide who truly listens and customizes the experience made all the difference. What really stood out was the flexibility. Based on the weather and how our kids were feeling each day, Roy gave us options and adjusted plans on the fly. One day he dropped me and my kids off to explore a neighborhood while he took my wife shopping for handbags and cosmetics—she was thrilled beyond belief. Then picked us to see other places. That level of personalization is something you just don’t get with typical Tokyo tours. We saw so much of Tokyo in a short amount of time, and it never felt rushed or overwhelming. Roy is an incredible resource, incredibly organized, and genuinely cares about creating the best possible experience for his clients. If you’re looking for a Tokyo private tour, a custom Tokyo itinerary, or the best tour guide in Tokyo, Roy is the person you want. We will absolutely be using Roy again on our next trip to Japan, and we’ve already shared his information with friends traveling to Tokyo soon. Highly, highly recommend.

    My parents and I were...

My parents and I were looking for a city tour that could accommodate our luggage as we wanted to enjoy Tokyo before our evening flight. We could not have asked for a better experience than what we had with Roy. His communication prior to the tour was excellent and his insights were very helpful in building a great itinerary. He was also very flexible the day of the tour which made for a fun and relaxing day.

Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs) cost?

    +

Prices start at $82000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs) take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs)?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Departure Tour from Hotel/Airport/Cruise (5-6 Hrs) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

    +

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

    +

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
