An Incredible Day Exploring Delhi with India Caravan Tours
We had an amazing day exploring the highlights of Delhi with India Caravan Tours, and it was easily one of the most memorable days of our trip. Our guide Afzal was fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable and full of fascinating stories that really brought the city’s history to life. It’s one thing to visit the famous landmarks, but with Afzal explaining the history and little details along the way, everything became much more interesting. During the tour we visited some incredible places including Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, and saw the famous Red Fort. A real highlight was a rickshaw ride through the bustling bazaars of Old Delhi — chaotic, colourful and great fun. We also visited the peaceful Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and stopped at the iconic India Gate. While we were there we were surrounded by lots of school groups who were incredibly excited to say hello. We must have shaken hundreds of hands and ended up in plenty of photos — although I’m fairly sure my wife was the more popular one! One lovely moment was when a young girl came over and gave us both flowers. Another highlight was visiting the beautiful Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, a stunning Sikh temple. Afzal showed us the incredible langar kitchen, where volunteers prepare free meals for thousands of people every day. Watching people working together chopping vegetables, rolling chapatis and cooking huge pots of food was genuinely inspiring. We also visited the striking Lotus Temple and stood beneath the towering Qutub Minar, which is over 70 metres tall and an amazing piece of history and architecture. A special mention must also go to our driver Mr Kailashi, who we’ve been lucky enough to have with us for a few days. Delhi traffic can be quite an experience, but he handled it with complete calm and professionalism. If you are visiting Delhi, we would highly recommend booking with India Caravan Tours and asking for Afzal as your guide. It was the perfect way to see the city and learn so much about its history and culture. Delhi gave us incredible sights, amazing history and about a thousand new friends — plus quite a few photos where my wife is clearly the star of the show! 🇮🇳

3 1/2 hours in Delhi
We only had 3 1/2 hours to enjoy Delhi and Vinyapratap ensured we made the most of our time! He took us to Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate, and shopping at Art India. Along the way, he squeezed in tons of details and history. He enjoys his job immensely and was the best tour guide! Highly recommend!!
