    Amazing scenery, beautiful drive

When staying in the Nice area, it is well worth the drive up into the mountains to finish at the Gorge de Verdon. We took the route where our first stop was Tourettes. This is a quaint little village that has heritage buildings, amazing views, and a little art interest going on. Driving on by Mons, and stopping in Castellane - this town has a dramatic natural stone tower that the adventurous can climb - a lot of people also go white-water rafting. The best drive is between Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, stunning views down the Gorge de Verdon.

Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you for choosing Tour Azur, and for taking the time to write a review! We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed your Gorges du Verdon tour. You're right the drive is beautiful and the scenery amazing, one of the deepest canyon in Europe and it is a high color trip. Our company aims to provide a truly unique experience, and we are thrilled that we were able to exceed your expectations. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Sincerely,

Our guide Mathilde was excellent, informative and charming. She tailored the tour to fit our needs. She was an outstanding driver and the van was well equipped for comfort and the long ride.It was worth the time. We would ask for her again if we are ever in this area again.

Is Private Day Trip: Verdon Gorge, Castellane, Moustiers from Nice worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Private Day Trip: Verdon Gorge, Castellane, Moustiers from Nice suitable for kids and families?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nice and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Nice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Nice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ★ Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, NO DIET CLUB - Unique Local Food in Nice !, Nice City Segway Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
