Absolutely Worth the Effort
I have a good friend from India who let me know that no trip to northern India is complete without a visit to Shekhawati and Mandawa, but I worried that it would take an entire day from our already busy travel schedule. It does take time, but it is time well invested. The driver was well prepared, the car was clean and comfortable, the buildings (and speaking with the people who are restoring them) was incredible. We also enjoyed an organized, lovely lunch from a local restaurant. Our only negative was that our guide was friendly but distracted by frequent calls. Our driver also noticed this, asked us for honest feedback and went out of his way to take us to even more sites, so his attentiveness more than made up for it. Would highly recommend this experience.

Breathtakingly beautiful
I don’t know why there’s so little reviews about Shekhawati online in English when it’s such an amazing place Several intricately painted and decorated Haveli. They are incredibly beautiful. Right now (07/22) not a very touristy place, not really recommend traveling by yourself, better with a guide who can show you around (for example Janu who’s experienced in this spot or Abid the local here) ((I actually stayed a night to also cover a little town nearby but if you’re short on time just this city alone is alright))
