Best of the best - a must do
We had thought of renting a car- what a huge mistake that would have been. Our day with Dimitris could not have been better. The most knowledgeable and kind person. A true lover of Greek history but he just knew and shared so much more than we were expecting. An excellent driver also- the Tesla was very comfortable. He stopped at everything meaningful along the way- always with intriguing facts. He indulged our questions and our favorite was his explanation of Greek mythology. We had planned 7 hours- but ended up spending about 10- only because we were enraptured by Dimitris - and the day flew by- even with lunch seaside in Nafplio (a delicious place he recommended!). We still had time after our return for a lovely dinner! [Bring extra money for the entrance fees which are not included]. If you strike the right chord with Dimitris- you might leave with authentic home- made olive oil!

Best of the Best
We can't say enough about our incredible experience with Dimitris. Starting with his vast knowledge of Greek history- there was not an answer he didn't know. The Tesla ride was so enjoyable, rather than try to rent a car and go ourselves (don't do it!!!) Dimitris is a fabulous driver, and we were enraptured by all of the descriptions of things we saw along the way. We made so many stops because he knew exactly where to go (be prepared to pay the entrance fees- well worth it). Our favorite was asking him to explain Greek mythology! I only wish we had more days in Athens to try his other tours! If you go with anyone else, you are seriously missing out!! [He's in the picture with my husband!]

Overall great experience
Dmitris was great from start to finish. We needed some help picking up a lost item from a previous tour, so we took a detour to do so. Our tour was just the right length with stops in Corinth, Mycenae, lunch in Nafplio, theater of Epidaurus, and then a scenic drive home. He made suggestions of places to eat, things to buy, and spots to take pictures. The car was comfortable and we felt safe. He was very friendly and communicative before and during the tour. Lastly, we asked him about the best place to get olive oil in Greece, and he even picked up some of his family's own olive oil. I'd highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a trip off the well beaten path! I only wish we had more time on the Pelopenne peninsula--it deserves more love and attention than it gets.

Great experience!
We had a very nice trip with Dimitris. He is very knowledgeable about the area and history. He took us to all the spots as described on the itinerary. We had a very relaxing and comfortable trip. If we ever come back to Athens in the future, we will arrange another trip him.

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert cost?
+
Prices start at $98 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Trip to Nafplio, Mycenae & Epidaurus | Local Expert start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
