Jaipur Amber Fort, Cistern, Observatory Tour and local Area Tour

This tour was absolutely excellent. We made the trip from Delhi, were escorted to the seat on the train and picked up right at the train car in Jaipur - same for the reverse trip. The guide (Ashok) and his driver were excellent. Ashok’s history knowledge and personality made the tour a 5/5 adventure. We skipped lunch to add a few extra sights and really appreciated the flexibility of both the driver and Ashok. Amber fort, the cistern and the Observatory were phenomenal.

A Split rating

This would be a five-star rating if not for the company handling. My daughter and I were cautioned to be on time 2 time. That means 5AM SHARP! No problem, we read the documentation and knew what we were signing up for. The driver was there on time, not very chatty, but it was 5AM. He walked us to and through the station, in near silence, and placed up on the train. He told us what seats to sit in, took a picture of us for the guide and left us to enjoy the train ride. Minutes later a man comes to us stating that we were in his seats and was quite upset. We did not have the advantage of knowing the local language, so we did not move until the 'conductor' came to say that he was correct, and we indeed were in the wrong seats. Prior to him coming I reached out to the driver. . . no response. then to the company . . .no response. NOTE: I had to sign up for an international data plan with Verizon on the spot to do so. we did not get Wi-Fi because we planned to do tours and stay close to the hotel otherwise. So, I did not appreciate the extra expense. I do not have to tell you how frightening it was to be alone, two women, and feel as though you were out of lace, literally. The conductor looked us up and discovered that we were in another part of the train 3 cars down. Luckily when you make these reservations, they ask for your passport information. Scary none the less. About 40 or so minutes after the train left the station, I got a text from the driver. However, the rain trip was fun, and they provided breakfast and snacks. You will not be hungry. When we got off the train, nervous about the guide, given the circumstances, but he found us with the driver and was VERY warm and made us at ease immediately. He explained that the trip was our and asked what interests we had and he would give us as much information as he could. And he DID. His explanations were thorough and complete. This was an educated man who loved the history and teaching it to others. The driver was great too. Bother men made sure we were always in sight, so we felt completely safe and cared for. The driver, understanding that we want to get henna tattoo while there, found woman that did a great job. We got to see and do everything we wanted to. Overall this was one of the best tour guides I have gad and it really made up for the morning's heartbreak. Going back was fine and the original driver picked us up and took us to the hotel.
