    We had a wonderful...

We had a wonderful experience with White Alligator tours. Peter was our driver and tour guide for our one day tour of Budapest from Vienna. Peter was very courteous and knowledgeable. He made us feel comfortable right away and did not rush us when he came to pick us up. The drive was very comfortable in an air conditioned, Mercedes minivan. There was bottled water available too. Peter spoke very clearly and used a microphone in the car throughout the journey. He took us around to see the main sights of the city. We had plenty of time to sightsee and walk around on our own as well. Peter made sure to drop us off in convenient locations to minimize walking. We really enjoyed Budapest, it is a beautiful city. Thanks for a memorable and informative trip!

Response from the operator: Dear Lori_B, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're delighted to hear that your day trip to Budapest with Peter was both enjoyable and comfortable. It's great to know you felt well taken care of. We appreciate your kind words and hope to have the pleasure of guiding you again in the future! Kind regards, The White Alligator Tours Team

    Budapest – Private Day Tour

Highly recommend White Alligator Tours. While visiting Vienna we wanted to take a private day trip to Budapest. I booked the tour several months in advance. Our questions were answered timely about an itinerary and booking the tour was easy online. Balazs met us at our hotel on the day of the tour before the appointed time. We enjoyed a pleasant ride to Budapest, approximately 2.5 hours with a stop along the way to grab coffee. Balazs grew up in Hungary and now lives in Vienna. His insight into the local area kept conversation interesting and lively throughout the day. We visited Gellert Hill; Castle District; St. Stephen’s Basilica, Heroes’ Square; and Central Market. As we drove thru the City Balazs pointed out many landmarks with a quick visit to the Soviet Heroic Memorial, which is flanked by the Ronald Regan statue. Our return trip to Vienna was just as pleasant and we arrived back at the prescribed time. Thank you for a wonderful day.

    Must do! Great Private Tour!!

This was a great tour! Our guide Balazs was very friendly and kind. He personally picked us up and dropped us off in-front of our hotel :) The trip was very smooth, driving was great and safe! Balazs knew a lot of the history around Budapest and Vienna, answering any questions we had with ease :) they also included water bottles for us to use which was helpful on the long drives to and from :) I enjoyed all the sight seeing and markets in the area! 10/10 recommend :)

    Wondering trip

Balaze is our tour guide. He is very knowledgeable, friendly, caring and considerate. He giving us the background history of Hungry and Vienna when on the road toward Budapest. Highlighted to us what to see. Also we have free time to walk around by ourselves. My friend and her mom are the first visit to Budapest in our Europe trip. Because of Balaze his introduction of Budapest, they all like Budapest in our this Europe trip. Highly recommend to take one day trip to Budapest.

Budapest and this tour were awesome

This tour was fantastic. The driver / guide was the best. Young guy (first name was Balazs) with a cool "man bun" that spoke very clear English and was just great. He could not have been better. Spoke to us about the region and Budapest most of the way there (about a 2 hour drive each way) but allowed us to rest/nap on the way home. Once in Budapest, we drove/walked around and saw the most important sites and again, our guide was great and very informative. Budapest is awesome, very pretty, very safe and the people were great. I would do this tour again for sure.

Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna cost?

    +

Prices start at $1250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna take?

    +

Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip to Budapest from Vienna start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
