    An amazing day in Plitvice

Having a private tour was important for me as I wasn’t sure how much walking I would be able to manage on the day and didn’t want to hold up a group. I researched and decided on this tour company. What a great decision I made for an outstanding memorable day with Petra. The car (small SUV) we travelled in was super comfortable and Petra provided so much information the whole way to both stops. We had just the right amount of time in Rastoke for coffee and toilet stop and little look around the quaint tiny village then onto Plitvice. Petra tailored the tour so we covered about 8km spread throughout the time there.. mindful if I needed a rest and incl 2 boat trips across the lake( 1 longer than the other) and the shuttle back to the start. The waterfalls and lakes were absolutely stunning and Petra provided Info along the way and offered to take photos for us. Everything was nicely timed and we were back to have a bite to eat before the 2-2 1/2 hr drive back to Zagreb. What a wonderful day .. don’t hesitate to book and if you get Petra you will be super lucky!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for booking the tour and taking time to post this amazing review. We are pleased that the experience met your expectations and that the day spent with our guide was memorable one. We wish you all the best!

A great personalized experience and worth every cent!

This was only my second time having a private guide, and Martina did not disappoint! From the on time pick up to the end of the day drop off, I was provided with enlightening information, useful facts, personal stories of life in Zagreb, a great escorted walk through Plitvice National park with just the right amount of tips and information, and an overall fabulous experience. Would book with Petros again in a heartbeat. Oh, that’s right I just did!

Response from the operator: Million thanks for booking the tour. We are thrilled that it met your expectations and that you are leaving Croatia with lovely memories from Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke. Best regards from Petros team!

Visit beautiful lakes in good company!

A scenic landscape of incredible lakes two hours drive from Zagreb. A beautiful national park visited with Blaz, a wonderful tour guide who is a true professional, well organized, caring, but first of all extremely knowledgable and ready to share his passion with tourists.

Response from the operator: Thank you for booking the tour and writing such amazing review. Hope to see you back one day!

    WOW!

The day trip from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes is worth the time investment-- about a 1.5 hour drive from city center. The views were amazing. The walk was beautiful, though being winter, a bit slippery in some places. This is best for confident walkers though no special athleticism is required. This is truly a special place and I feel grateful to have spent a day there. The guide from Petros was terrific. Knowledgeable and just an enjoyable person to spend the day with.

Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zagreb.

How much does Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb cost?

    +

Prices start at $236 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zagreb usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zagreb is not rushed.

Is Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip: Stunning Plitvice Lakes and Rastoke from Zagreb start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zagreb within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zagreb?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zagreb?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zagreb?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
