Spring trip to Portugal
We loved our trip to Portugal. Pedro did a great job of listening to our needs and planning an amazing Portugal experience for the four of us. Our drivers were exceptional. Carlos and Ricardo were especially informative, fun and flexible during our day long rides. The boutique hotels were special. We feel in love with the Hotel Britania in Lisbon. This was a perfect place to begin our journey. We also loved the hotels in Lagos (beautiful view of ocean) and the Miragem in Cascais(lovely pool and spa). The breakfasts were delicious and the staffs at these hotels were friendly and helpful. The only hotel that disappointed us was the hotel in Porto, the Eurostar. This was not Pedro's fault as he had given us options and we chose to be on the river. This hotel was sterile feeling and not particularly welcoming. The itinerary was perfect and we loved all places we visited. The tour guides, Silvia in Lisbon and Sarah in Porto, were excellent. Our day in the Douro Valley was magical and we are all still talking about the amazing food we had at our lunch at the winery. We are home with amazing memories that will stay with us and loving the country and people of Portugal.

Fantastic tour
Our guide Lucy did a fantastic job guiding us around. We tok the cable car up and down to the wall. Spectacular views! God chinese lunch at a local restaurant. We had many options to choose from. The Hot Springs were fantastic. 5 stars to our guide Lucy

Great experience, a bit hasty
We took the trip to the Great Wall and finished at the hot springs. Because we went on a Sunday, there was traffic delaying us and long queues resulting in just a bit over one hour walking the wall. Lunch was great, and the hot springs really good. But even here we just had an hour and a half. The day started at 08.30 and we were back at the hotel 18.30. Our guide Miko, and the driver was great! Miko gave us a good history lesson about the wall and Beijing.
Response from the operator: Dear Friend Thank you very much for your feedback, we will try our best to improve our services in the future. During the weekend, especially during the peak season. So highway have traffic, and long queues for the cable car at the Great Wall. These condition is hard to control. In the future, we will try to let the tour start early like 7:00am or 7:30am, to avoid the traffic and try to arrive the Great Wall at Mutianyu when it open. Good to know you enjoyed the hot spring, and satisfies with your tour guide Miko. Suggestions for this tour Try to avoid weekends during the Peak Season( March-April,Sep-Oct) or we can try to start the tour early 7:00am. Thank you again for your valuable time and review. It is very important for our us. Regards Discover Beijing Tours

Fantastic day out - our guide was so...

Fantastic day out - our guide was so kind and knowledgeable. We were taken to an amazing local restaurant where we ate the best traditional Chinese food imaginable. We took our 12 month old daughter, which they were extremely accommodating for and despite our initial worries, we had no difficulties negotiating the great wall with a baby. Truly a day to remember - thanks soo much!!

Excellent experience. Informative, relaxing, and enjoyable.
Lucy Lee was our tour guide, and she was an absolute pleasure. Was easy to converse with throughout the trip, and she was able to give us a great deal of interesting information regarding the sites we were seeing, and Chinese history in general. The tour of Matiyanu was fantastic. We proceeded to have lunch at a nearby local place which had delicious food. I can't remember what it was called but they had a beef/cauliflower dish which was great. The hot springs were an excellent way to cap it off before being returned to the airport for our flight.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall cost?
+
Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Trip: Outdoor Hot Spring Experience and Mutianyu Great Wall start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
