Taj Mahal & Agra Fort all inclusive day trip (pressure on guides for reviews!)

My review is in 2 parts, the good and then the not so good. Firstly, the pressure that all guides (from all tour companies) have in India for 5 star TripAdvisor reviews means I would not believe tours when 99% of reviews are 5 star - please review to my comments about this below. Good points of A Star tour: - Lots of communication when booking, answering questions etc. immediately - driver (Monu) arrived 15 minutes early which was great. I have been in many countries where you are never sure if the driver is turning up and can often be 10-20 min late. - guide was great, very informative and gave you plenty of time to yourself at the Taj Mahal to wonder around and not feel rushed. I would give my tour guide 5 stars! - Guide was very willing to take photos of you in the photos. As I was travelling alone this was a nice gesture. - lunch is at a hotel in Agra, and used by many different tour groups. But food was good, buffet with plenty of choices. Bad Points: - the pressure that the guide had (and all guides from other tours) to get good reviews means that I was asked to write my review at lunch! I refused, as I said the tour was not over. - not given a choice whether you want to go to a marble stone works factory and textiles factory. The usual sales pitch, as all tours now do, and I walked out of the textiles factory. This was 30 minutes wasted. I understand some people may enjoy this, then you should be asked, not expected to go. - Agra Fort. Do to the time spent at the factory I felt rushed at Agra Fort. It was very much a quick walk around and then back in the car. Appreciate you can't spend too long here as it took about 3-3.5 hours driving back so was they want to get on the road as soon as possible, hence why reducing the wasted time "shopping" and actually seeing the historical Fort would have been better Overall, from this experience I would have recommended A Star tours. The pressure (constantly asking for good review) is a cultural thing, and if it was just explained that there are so many companies so reviews are important, that is all that would have been needed. I saw guides from other companies doing this, so it is not specific to this company. It was this reason I gave 4 stars But my experience on a second tour with A Star tours was very different - but I will keep that review separate (refer my review on New and Old Delhi tour).

Response from the operator: Thank You so much for sharing your feedback with us. After going through your review we clearly understood and definitely we will be not working with such staff (Guides) again in future. We never instruct our guide to take you to shopping places.Once again we thank you very much for sharing your feedback with us. Thanks & Regards A Star Tours

A day of history and amazing sights

Our driver was Lal, he was an excellent driver, the car was spotless and well maintained. He gave pointed out interesting sights along the drive to Agra. There we picked up our guide who was very knowledgeable about the history of the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. He took some excellent pictures of us and we both thoroughly enjoyed our day. The only thing that kept this tour from being a 5 star was the lunch. We upgraded to the luxury hotel lunch but it was a courtyard by Mariott. Since we were already at a JW Mariott in Delhi, the courtyard wasn't really "luxury". All in all, I do recommend A Star for visiting the Taj Mahal.

Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you for your valuable feedback. Your feedback is very important for us. Thanks for all your time and we look forward to assist you again in future. Thanks & Regards. A Star Tours

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaipur.

How much does Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi cost?

    +

Prices start at $83 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaipur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi take?

Is Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jaipur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi?

    +

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaipur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaipur and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort with Lunch from Delhi start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaipur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Jaipur?

    +

On Outty we rank every Jaipur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Sunrise Taj Mahal Tour from Delhi By Car -All inclusive, Private Jaipur Full One Day Tour In Pink City With Guide, Private Full Day Jaipur Sightseeing Tour By Tuk Tuk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jaipur?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jaipur?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
