About this experience
Your private tour guide will meet you at the arranged time and place and take you to Medjugorje by a sedan car or a minivan. Medjugorje has become one of the most popular places in the Balkans. A group of children, back in 1981, excitedly and persistently claimed to have seen a vision of Blessed Virgin Mary up on a hill above their village. Some witness to miraculous effects experienced in Medjugorje, whereas others claim that a personal conversion took place. The climb up the Apparition Hill is somewhat challenging, but if you take your time and walk carefully, it may well be the highlight of your pilgrimage. Nevertheless, many report being invigorated and profoundly strengthened by the endeavor.

A great Private Day Trip to Medjugorje from Split
This was a great experience for all 8 of us. Prior to the trip communications were clear and prompt, the team answered all our questions and was also happy for us to pay half before the trip and half after the trip. A convenience not a lot of other companies provided. Mario was a wonderful guide - he was informative with his great knowledge and experience of Split and Medjugorje and he kindly catered to our needs, especially as plans changed due to the extreme heat. We set out 6:30am and returned at 5:30pm, and we saw everything we wanted to see without it feeling dragged or rushed. The apparition hill at Medjugorje was a peaceful climb and we had a prayerful moment at the top. It was busy but it did not feel crowded, everyone was very respectful and in the moment. Mostar was beautiful but due to the extreme heat and the city being the second hottest city in Europe, our tour guide Santa Marie gave us a whistle stop tour (as requested) under nice shady areas with stunning views and snapped some photos before we returned to the AC. Santa gave us a fascinating snapshot of the history of Mostar and the Sitar bridge and happily answered our questions. Overall, it was a brilliant trip and a huge thumbs up to Mario, Santa Marie and the Portal Private Tours team.

Unforgettable Experience
Our tour guide Andrija made our trip to Bosnia Herzegovina an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend doing an overnight. We visited Mostar, Medugorje, Vrelo Bune, & Kravice Waterfalls and several other hidden gems we would not have known about otherwise. We also had a walking tour of Mostar and wine tasting at Spirit of Herzegovina. Anna did both the wine tasting and walking tour and it felt like a good friend giving you a tour of their home city.

Wonderful Day Trip to Medjugorje
Mario was the best! We were picked up at the cruise port. Our Mercedes van was spotless! Mario was a great driver and guide. He was very knowledgeable and helped us to make the most of our time. As promised, we were back to the ship in plenty of time. A wonderful way to see Medjugorje. He made crossing the border into Bosnia a breeze! We were blessed with great weather and no crowds (a very nice surprise) I would high recommend Portal Tours. Thank you for a great day!

Excellent excursion!
Our trip to Medjugorje with Portal Private Tours was great! Mario, our driver, was very professional, informative, and spoke excellent English. He gave us a lot of cultural , historical, and social aspects of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as Medjugorje on the drive. He was very flexible and gave us good advice on places to eat when we arrived at the site. The car was very comfortable (Mercedes Benz van) and appeared new. Overall, the experience was fantastic.

Outstanding Split Tour
Ernest picked us up at the cruise ship terminal promptly at 9 am and we drove to Kirka Falls…learned about the extensive history of Croatia as Ernest is well read and revealed many fascinating facts….he also shared his experience as an olive farmer…. We had a great family style lunch at a local restaurant….then visited Trogir..again with an excellent review of the history. We have a group of life long couples and we travel together…everyone thought that this was the best tour we have had in our times traveling together. It also is a very good value for your money. Nives booked everything online with us several months before our tour…and it was seamless! Ask for Ernest….he is the best!

Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split cost?
+
Prices start at $770 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Trip of Medjugorje from Split start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
