Day tour to Giethoorn from Amsterdam.

I am planning to take this trip in June 2025 but unable to find the starting time for this tour in your posting. I contacted your representative by chat and he was unable to help me. He suggested that I should call the tour operator to find out the starting time for this tour. Very unfriendly customer service.

Highly recommend tour and Aku guide to Giethoorn.

Great small tour using Viator from Amsterdam to Giethoorn. Tour driver, guide, and boat master was Aku. He was very friendly, patient, knowledgeable and flexible. He worked around weather to ensure we had the best experience. Loved the village, especially the small boat tour.

    Amazing!

Karel is a very friendly tour guide with fantastic sense of humour! He did a very professional job by taking me, my mom and my wife privately to explore Giethoorn as well as sharing everything we wanted to know about Dutch history. Despite the rain, our schedules were running smoothly, boat ride was great, the views were stunning and timing was spot on! After the trip, we left a pair of sunglasses in Karel’s car and he was being so kind by shipping them to our apartment in London after we left Netherlands on the day after our trip. I would definitely recommend everyone to reach out to Trigger Tours and request Karel to take you around!!

A wonderful village to cruise through!

We were visiting Amsterdam for several days in June and took a day trip tour to the quaint village of Giethoorn with Dutch Trips. It was a small organized mini-van pickup which was early by 15 minutes of announced time. The driver immediately handed us bottles of water. There were only seven of us in the van and another van. The ride down to Giethoorn took close to two hours time with a 15 min. break at a local village Aalsmeer where we visited a gift shop and there were public restrooms. In addition, the driver from the other van gave us a bit of history of the area . Upon arrival, we were offered either a cup of tea /coffee along with a mini stroopwaffel treat, then we were led to the docked whisper boat for a one hour narrated tour of Giethoorn ( a village with roads that are all in the water). It was an enjoyable boat cruise through the canal in the village where we saw brightly colored houses along bridges that connect the villages together. After the boat tour, we were given some free time to visit the village of Giethoorn. It was nice to walk through the village of Giethoorn and enjoy the greenery, flowers, and many bridges that cross the canals. Some of the bridges were closed to pedestrian traffic as the residents did not want to be disturbed but overall, everyone was very tolerable It is a real treat to be able to visit the village of Giethoorn as it is not easy to come via own public transportation from Amsterdam since it involves transfer of trains and they do not run that frequently. Definitely worth a day trip if you have the time while visiting Amsterdam.

Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Amsterdam.

How much does Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $210 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Amsterdam is not rushed.

Is Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Amsterdam can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Day Trip from Amsterdam to Giethoorn including boat tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Amsterdam within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
