Esztergom private excursion
Outstanding private tour of Esztergom and the countryside! Our driver and guide was extremely knowledgeable about the locations and best places to visit throughout the area. What made the experience truly special was how customized the day was to our interests and requests. The guide was happy to adjust the itinerary, explore additional spots, and accommodate anything we wanted to see along the way. The entire experience felt personal, professional, and tailored specifically for us rather than a standard tour. We never felt rushed and appreciated the flexibility and attention to detail throughout the day. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a more personalized and enjoyable experience in Hungary!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review. We’re delighted you enjoyed your private day trip to Esztergom, Szentendre, Visegrád, and the Hungarian countryside. It is especially rewarding to hear that the day felt personal, flexible, and tailored to your interests rather than like a standard tour. Our goal is always to provide a comfortable, insightful, and unhurried experience with thoughtful local knowledge along the way. We truly appreciate your recommendation and would be very happy to welcome you on another Europe Journey trip in the future.

A nice change from the city.
We enjoyed our day to the countryside outside of Budapest. We scheduled for a Monday which meant several sites were closed. Be aware of this. Our driver Andy was fun and interesting. We liked seeing sites and other areas outside the big city. I would have enjoyed a little more history about each area since we’d never been to Hungary before. My husband liked the discussions with Andy about present day politics in Hungary. A good day overall.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review! We’re glad you enjoyed your day outside Budapest and that Andy made the trip fun and interesting. Thank you also for noting the Monday closures — that’s helpful feedback for future travelers. We’re happy you had a good day overall!

Atilla is the best
Atilla was our driver guide and was an exceptional host. It is january, 6 inches of snow, far from tour season but he did a great job accommodating the weather and our desires. He is very knowledgeable about Budapest and Hungarian history. We had excellent conversations! Atilla went out of his way to fulfill our expectations. We had a great day with Atilla
Response from the operator: Dear Licha. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that Atilla made your day in Budapest so memorable, even in the snowy January weather. It’s great to know that his knowledge, flexibility, and hospitality exceeded your expectations. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to him!

Oliver was punctual, spoke excellent English, very knowledgeable and adapted the tour to suit our day. The car was late model, spotlessly clean and Oliver is a polite and safe driver.

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.
How much does Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom cost?
+
Prices start at $281 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.
Is Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private day trip: Budapest to Szentendre, Visegrad and Esztergom start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Budapest?
+
On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Budapest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Budapest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
