Fantastic way to see the sights of Luxor!
Fantastic day. My driver Mohammed picked me up very punctually at 5:30am. The car was comfortable and air-conditioned. We drove for a couple of hours through desert during sunrise which was beautiful before stopping off for a coffee/toilet break. Then on to Luxor where we met Tamir, my guide for the day. At all of the stops Tamir was really knowledgeable and shared a good amount of info about each location and the history of it. Guides aren't allowed in the tombs so he'd pre-load me with history and things to look out for and then I'd be free to wander around at my own pace. Same for the Temple of Hatshepsut. The restaurant we stopped at for the included lunch was incredible Egyptian cuisine that easily catered for me as a vegan. So much food! The only attraction really where your guide can be with you the whole time is Karnak Temple and this is where Tamir's knowledge really came to the fore. He knew so much about every aspect and really guided me through its construction, meaning and history whilst allowing me to see whatever I wanted, take pictures, ask questions etc. Then we did the drive back which was quicker. Personally I considered the drive a part of the experience because from the car you get to see so much of the Nile Valley towns and its vibrancy as compared to the desert portion of the drive. Mohammed and Tamir were both super friendly and kind which obviously means a lot as I was with them all day. Great time and definitely recommend!

Whirlwind tour of Luxor
Excellent choice if you are staying at Hirghada and only have a day to spare to see Luxor. We were picked up at our hotel in Hurghada by Zak. He was professional and friendly although didn't speak much English. It was around 4hr car ride to Luxor with a short stop halfway for toilet break coffee etc. We were joined by our guide Khaled in Luxor and then first saw the Karnak temple. Entry tickets are not included as mentioned in the tour details. The counters accept card or cash. I paid mostly by card and there was no problems. After this we went to one of PApyrus shops which sells genuine papyrus rather than from banana leaf etc. Then we took a felucca which is a sailboat across the nile to the West Bank and headed to the valley of the Kings after a stop for lunch which was good. Visit to 3 of the tombs is included and we bought extraticket to see Tutankhamun tomb. From here we were taken to one of the authentic place authorised to sell Albaster stone products, we had a short demonstration on how it's made and ended up buying a small statue. Then we went to the Hatshepsut temple and learnt the interesting history behind it. Final stop was colossi of Memnon and finally car journey back to Hurghada.

Review for Khaled, the tour guide, NOT for company - used Albaraa Tours
This is a review for Khaled, the tour guide/Egyptologist that accompanied us during the one day private tour we booked with Albaraa Travel Group. He was brilliant (18 years of experience!), from the moment we picked him up on entry to Luxor until the end. He was very knowledgeable and explained to us every site we've seen. One thing that I appreciated is that from the first site, i.e. Karnak Temples, he explained to us how the day will go: he will tell us the history of places then we will have time for ourselves in order to enjoy them and take photos, then he will tell us how to distract the hagglers trying to sell us stuff - I think that was brilliant because this way we could listen and enjoy the day to the full. Truly worthwhile and heartily recommend him :).

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hurghada.
How much does Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada cost?
+
Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hurghada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada take?
+
Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hurghada is not rushed.
Is Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hurghada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hurghada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hurghada and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Tour to Luxor from Hurghada start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hurghada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hurghada?
+
On Outty we rank every Hurghada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hurghada Diving Adventure one Day with two Dives Boat Trip, Hurghada to Cairo: Pyramids & Museum for First-Time Visitors, Scuba Diving Full Day Boat Trip W/Lunch & Transfer from Hurghada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hurghada?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hurghada?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
