Horrible tour to Alexandria
Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience on our Alexandria tour. The car was very small and uncomfortable, especially for a 2.5-hour drive each way from Cairo. My friend is tall, and when we politely asked the driver to move his seat slightly forward to give us more legroom, he refused and said he was tall too and he was the driver, very rude. The ride was extremely uncomfortable. The guide was very bad. She didn’t speak English well, and we couldn’t understand half of what she was saying. When we asked basic historical questions (for example, about when the ancient Library of Alexandria was destroyed), she didn’t know the answers. Her phone was also ringing constantly, every couple of minutes, and she kept taking calls during the tour, which was very distracting. There wasn’t much information shared while walking between sites. Sometimes she would just point and say something very short like “this is crab,” without any explanation or context. Overall, the tour felt uninformative and unprofessional. We paid $300 for this tour and ended up feeling so uncomfortable that we decided to cut it short, skip lunch and just get back to our hotel. It was very disappointing. Do not recommend!

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
