About this experience
just to give you an idea i'll list you some details of one type of tour. I do usually suggest to my clients to start the tour quite early. . . by 8am, it'll be the best way to avoid the rush hours traffic in Naples. In approx. 1 hour we'll reach Sorrento, where obviously you'll have the chance of visiting the ancient centre town. After Sorrento, we'll time to go finally along the breathtaking Amalfi coast. . . several stops on the way , if you desire, for taking amazing pictures and even there time to visit the centre town (where big buses will not be allowed to go to) and time for lunch too, of course. After the visit of the coast will be then time to reach the Ancient Pompei, since the archeological area is massive i'd suggest to stop for approx. 2 hours. . . overthere, if you desire I could arrange avery good professional local tour guide for a Private Tour into the ruins, otherwise you could explore by yourself too. After Pompei you'll be driven back to starting point

Simply AWESOME !!
Umberto and his family became part of our family in Italy! Their hospitality was only matched by their knowledge of the region. The services were top notch, professional, educational and economical. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience in a beautiful part of the world, Italy Driver is your best choice 👍!

Hassle free transfer & superb Pompei tour.
Fantastic service from start to finish, we were collected from Naples train station as a family of six and then driven to Pompei for a private 2 hour tour. Our guide was fantastic (so sorry that we can’t remember her name). Our driver Manuel then took us onto our accommodation in Sorrento. Umberto was a pleasure to deal with via WhatsApp, everything went so smoothly. We’d thoroughly recommend for a hassle free way to travel.

Excellent tour from a top notch company
We arranged a private transport for our cruise stop in Naples. Umberto provided outstanding communication and details prior to the trip. Our driver for the day was Manuel and he was outstanding. He was enthusiastic, entertaining and engaging. He spoke excellent English and Italian and provided colorful details of the area. He provided very good information and brought us to some memorable locations. Also, Umberto and Manuel arranged for a private tour and admission to the ruins of Pompei. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We arrived back to our cruise ship on time as Manuel was great in keeping us on track. We definitely recommend this company for the excellent customer service!

Positano view is great the rest is all shopping. Pompei should be at least 4 hours
In our words it was a taste of Pompeii if you want the full experience go for 4 plus hours with a guide. Positano is shopping and more shopping. You could cut the tour time down and just see the infamous image of the hillside on the water. Mano our driver was great - very friendly and accommodating.

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.
How much does Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.
Is Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private day tour: Pompei Sorrento and Positano start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sorrento?
+
On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sorrento?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sorrento?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
