Well worth it!
As it was just mother and I we got picked up and was privately shown around all the spots. Went back in May 2025, perfect weather, not too hot or humid. Take a cardigan like I did as when you’re picked it’s a bit chilly in the morning but as the day goes by and the weather gets warmer, you get warm with all the walking you’re going to want to take it off. That’s if you go at this time of year. Please don’t forget your passport as to enter their touristic spots you need to show ID. The pick up is early but so worth it as getting into Tinamen square means no queues! Be prepared for a lot of walking too. Lunch was yummy and the perfect way to refuel for the walk along the badling part of the Great Wall. It is up to you if you want to go up in a cable cart but as you have limited time you’ll spend at least 1 hour in the queue just to go up having little time to enjoy on the wall and take in the views and miss the last one down then having to walk the whole Badling section down. This was the tip our tour guide gave and I’m so glad I listened to her! We slowly walked up, enjoyed the views, listened to the history the guide gave us and really took in the beautiful scenery. My mother stayed sat on a bit of the wall whilst I walked up all the way my little legs could take! Don’t forget your hiking shoes for that day as you’ll do ALOT of walking from early morning. Tiring day but well worth it. From our friendly driver, well informed tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and friendly to the beautiful scenery of Beijing Well worth it!

A tour you cannot fully describe in words, you must experience it!
First I must compliment our tour guide Angie, she was absolutely amazing! Angie contacted us the day before to set expectations. We had an amazing tour of the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and The Great Wall. The views at The Great Wall were breath taking. We had an amazing lunch at a local restaurant along the way and learned so much about China. This is something you must experience! Definitely try to use Angie if you can to get the most out of this experience.

Amazing
Our tour guide Yuly - was fantastic. She picked us up promptly at 8:30 am and filled us in on all of the locations we would be going that day. We would start off at Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, and then off to the Badaling section of the Great Wall. And, where we would eat for lunch (which was included). She was knowledgeable tour and filled us in with all sorts of historical information - which we loved. As well as, answered our questions about different things. She was awesome!

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall cost?
+
Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day of Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City And Badaling Great Wall start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
