    1. Pyramids of Dahshour

our guide will pick up from your hotel to visit Dahsur Pyramid was built by king Snefru 2613 BC, after the step, King Snefru (2680-2656 B.C), the founder of the IV Dynasty, was the first to choose the area to build his royal tomb, as it was close to the capital, Memphis. He first built the southern Pyramid, or what we call today the Bent Pyramid. The architect actually made a mistake when building this Pyramid, not realising it until the height reached about 48m (with an angle of 54 degrees). He changed his original plans to make it safer (hoping to prevent what had happened at Meidum), and finished it by modifying the angle to just 43 degrees! And that is the reason behind the strange shape of this Pyramid and why, today, it is called the Rhomboid or Bent Pyramid. Analysing the reason behind the change, Egyptologists think that the angle of 54 degrees was going to result in a very huge and high Pyramid, which would have been very unstable,

Great experience with Ehab in Sakkara, Dahshur & Memphis

We were lucky enough upon our arrival in Cairo to be met by Ehab and Islam. Ehab is an Egyptologist and has an incredible amount of knowledge about all of the Egyptian history and culture, both ancient and modern history. He and Islam, our driver, picked us up In front of our hotel and brought us to see the oldest pyramids in Egypt in Saqqara and Dahshur, educating us along the way on everything around us in Egypt both past and present. We then proceeded to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where he guided us through the sights, statues and relics, there. He was a kind, friendly accommodating guide, not to mention unbelievably knowledgeable about everything related to Egyptology. We were able to go inside a tomb at Saqqara, which was absolutely fascinating. He guided us not only through the historic aspect of Egypt, but also the social and tourist aspect, protecting us along the way from being taken advantage of. We would've been absolutely lost without him. We were only in Egypt for two days and had him for this tour and another full day tour at the Giza plateau, the Egyptian museum and several other places. We could not have gotten luckier with our guide. With the limited amount of time we had he made our visit to Egypt so easy and so fascinating without having to worry about logistics. He also treated us to lunch, which was extremely kind of him and it was an amazing lunch as well. Camley_D, August 2024 Egipto Muy buena excursión el

Best option when short on time.

Driver was punctual at our hostel for pickup. Took us to Dahshur & Sakkara step pyramids and gave us all the time we needed to see what we wanted. Even better was that he dropped us off at a different location as it was our last day in Egypt and we still had to make time to see other things on our own instead of losing time and being dropped off at our hostel. Good option if you are short on time and need to get around far distances without the hassle. I would do it over again.

    +

Prices start at $13 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Day Dahshur Pyramid,Sakkara step Pyramid,Memphis Old City take?

Is Private Day Dahshur Pyramid,Sakkara step Pyramid,Memphis Old City worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
