Awesome time!
Sho proved to be a very organized and well informed host for our group. Okay, take the time to explain different sites and even help us to make some reservations. He is a very bright person and it's interesting to engage in a discussion about history with him. I would definitely recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the review. When feel like visiting Japan again, please feel free to use our service.

Imagine doing a tour through with Ninja guide
Sho-san is the tour guide to give you a deeper cultural experience of Kyoto that goes beyond sightseeing. He is knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics, artistic and socio- political alike, speaks perfect English and has a great sense of humor. Definitely recommend booking this tour. You won’t regret it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the high review and recommendation and a great Review. Ninja Guide is a unique thing that makes the experience unforgettable, as the population of those who do Ninja is not that high. Glad that this brought excellent experience.

Recommended for history lovers
The guides are quite knowledgeable about the history, martial arts and culture of Japan and Kyoto, so I really enjoy walking around the city talking. Guidebooks show you around hidden temples and shrines, where many people visit Kyoto sightseeing spots, but few have much information.
Response from the operator: 高レビューを投稿してくださりありがとうございます。 街歩きツアーとして今後も色々な工程を準備しておりますのでぜひまたのご利用をお待ちしております。

We had Great experience! Thanks a lot!!
Sho is very good at explaining and guiding. I love traditional Japanese culture and Zen, and this time I wanted to learn more about Japanese swords, so I asked him about it. He kindly organized a sword-focused tour for us in Kyoto. We around 4 places. He was excellent at explaining katana, history, religion, temples, and shrines. Everything was easy to understand and very interesting. It really made me think, and I was able to deepen my understanding and motivation to study more. It was a very meaningful experience for both me and my daughter. After tour, she said, “I was so happy!” We made wonderful memories. Honestly, thank you so much.
Response from the operator: Hi there! thank you for the wonderful review. The tour based on blades and cultural schemes like ally ways of the city may be a niche and i am delighted that, you enjoyed the content.

Awesome tour
Sho is a very knowledgeable guide; he explained to me some very interesting things about the places we visited and showed me some hidden gems. I highly recommend it, especially if you want to delve into the history of Japan.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the review. The places we've visited the concentrated tourist spot on foot made the itinerary flexible and visited the less chosen area. Please do use our service again when you are in the area. We would love to show you around again!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.
How much does Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto cost?
+
Prices start at $10000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.
Is Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Customized Walking Tour in Kyoto start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kyoto?
+
On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kyoto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kyoto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
