Pasar Chandni Chowk
This market exemplifies the quintessential feeling of Old Delhi — noisy, busy, and overflowing with goods. People, bicycles, cycle rickshaws and animals jostle for space in the narrow lanes near obscure stores selling anything from wedding wear to jewelry, hardware, and electronics. North Indian snacks are plentiful. (Some wholesale sub-markets closed on Sundays)
30 minutes here
Khan Market
One of Delhi’s oldest markets, this complex has a mix of regular stores and up-market restaurants. Stores range from brand names to one-store boutiques and tailors, and shops sell anything from books to cosmetics. Abundant cafes feature all cuisines.

Janpath Market
Here you get to do the best of street shopping. You will mostly find small kiosks selling all kinds of cotton clothes and curios. The clothes are generally export-surplus garments and are sold dirt-cheap. There's lots of silver and artificial jewellery studded with semi-precious stones available here. Refugees who came after the Partition and Tibetans who came when China invaded Tibet settled here as traders. Shopping here requires a couple of skills. One, you must have the ability to distinguish the fake from the genuine. Two, you must know and practice the art of bargaining patiently.
30 minutes here

The important shops and showrooms here include Adidas Originals, Allen Solly, Bentley, Bon Ton, Cantabil, Gas, Johnson Watch Company, Kalpana, Lee, Louis Philippe, Neelkanth Jewellers, Nike, Orra, Park Avenue, Pepe, Proline and Fila, Roopchand Jewellers, Snowhite Square, Wills Lifestyle. Mohanlal Sons promises to give you ready or tailored attires to suit every occasion. Known for its quality and good service, you will find here a wide range of shirts, trousers, jackets, suits, kurtas and sherwanis. The Outer Circle consists of Blocks G to P. Showrooms like Digjam, Lacoste, Omega, Rado, RL Exports and TAG Heuer lie in this circle.

Lajpat Nagar is a popular shopping area where you can get whatever you desire - accessories, clothes, footwear, bags, etc. The garments at Hakoba range from saris and salwar kameezes for women to kurtas and kurtis for both men and women. The Lucknowi embroidery, which is mostly done in white-coloured threads, is breathtaking and of very high quality. Karan & Nasir have been revolutionizing the way men dress. RCKC has carved a niche for itself in the international market with labels like Anamika and RISA by Abhijeet Khanna. A brainchild of Saurabh Mehta, Samaira boasts a wide variety of designs that define femininity with simple styles. Apart from fashion stores, there are furnishing stores and decor houses to beautify your homes. There are huge glittering showrooms as well as roadside stalls. The mehndiwallahs (appliers of henna) are very famous. Bargaining is a must if you wish to get the best of this market. It remains closed on Mondays.

Too lazy to take me to all 4 bazaars
Cared little. Wanted to head back after just 2 of the bazaars. Helped himself to lunch at my expense. Didnt care about customer
Response from the operator: Sorry you didn’t have a good experience or get to visit more bazaars. Thank you for the honest feedback. If this had been shared during the tour, we could have addressed it immediately. Please note that licensed guides operate independently, though we have stopped engaging this guide for future services. Our apologies once again.

Disappointing
Experiencing Chandni Chowk markets. I contacted our guide well before the tour, stating that we did not want to be taken to organised shops, where tourists are taken advantage of for the benefit of shop and guide. I also expressed that we wanted to see a lot of the markets. We went to two shops at the markets, both of which were in the above mentioned category. We stayed very little time at the markets, which was unfortunate, and I should have said that we wanted to stay. He wanted to take us to lunch, but as we had limited time, we were happy to go without, which he was not too happy about. The clothing and fabric shop that we were taken to, instead of the one that we had requested, was a total rip off. My friend’s card was charged, then they tried to charge again, resulting in the bank blocking her card. We looked around the Kahn markets, and they were pleasant. The guide was impatient, except in the shops where he had an interest. We were also informed that we had to pay extra for our Tuk Tuk ride through Chandni Chowk market, and that was not mentioned prior to booking, or even before getting into the Tuk Tuk. Our driver for the day was just lovely. He was very polite and provided us with water. Overall not great, but my fault for not speaking up.

Why this scores 57
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.
How much does Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets cost?
+
Prices start at $996 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.
Is Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Custom Shopping Tour: Delhi's Bustling Markets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Delhi?
+
On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
