What you get

    About this experience

In the morning, 1 hour transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi will take you to the famous Cu Chi tunnels where you will spend the next couple of hours exploring the area and learning about the history and the incredible tenacity and ingenuity of its inhabitants. The more adventurous will have the opportunity to crawl through the tunnels and to fire off some rounds from AK47 or M16 assault riffles at the shooting range before driving to Mekong Delta. Have lunch at restaurant on the way. On arrival, enjoy cruising along the Mekong River to Unicorn Island and then take a paddle-boat to cruise through a narrow canal. The boat ride will provide an interesting look into the cottage industries where coconut candles are manufactured by the locals. We will have the opportunity to visit a bee farm where we can spoil ourselves with the freshest ingredients around. This includes delicious tea with fresh honey right from the bee’s hives and a delectable fruit selection. Return to Sai Gon.

Another Amazing Tour with Typhoon Honey!

It was great to reconnect with Typhoon Honey with my entire family after doing a group tour with him on my own 9 years ago. He is a great guy, extremely positive, wonderful with kids and grandmas, and had everything ready to go the entire day. It's easy to see why he's such a legend. Hope he is willing to keep guiding so we can travel with him again next time we come to Vietnam!

great tour, will comeback next time

I really enjoy learning about Vietnamese culture. I visited the north before, and this time I came back to see the south — it feels so different. The Cu Chi Tunnels were super interesting, especially with the guide explaining everything in detail. Cruising the Mekong’s small canals was relaxing and peaceful, and I liked stopping by the villages to see how people still keep their traditional crafts.

Response from the operator: Dear Passenger12923799731, Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed discovering the differences between northern and southern Vietnam. It’s great that the Cu Chi Tunnels helped deepen your understanding of the country’s history, and that the guide’s explanations made the visit more meaningful. We’re also happy you enjoyed the peaceful cruise along the Mekong canals and the chance to see traditional village life up close. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for more cultural journeys in Vietnam.

Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.

How much does Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $205 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.

Is Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Cu Chi Tunnels & Mekong Delta 1 Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
