Excellent and essential tour
This is an essential trip to take after you have been to the War Memories Museum to see how life was lived and fought in the countryside. It is also a good tour because you go to the less touristy and more original tunnels. Manh was an excellent guide, giving us the full background to the war and life for the local people, and also life today. A highly recommended day

Highly recommend!
Today, my girlfriend and I went to visit the Cu Chi tunnels near Saigon. At around 8 am we were picked up by our guide Luân (Ethan). On our way to the site, he told us a lot about the past of Vietnam, including both the French colonisation and Vietnam War, and the impact it had on the country. We made a short stop at a factory, where people affected by Agent Orange (a chemical used in the Vietnam War) made all kinds of art made from wood. Very insightful to see! After that, we had a one hour drive towards the tunnels. Here, he guided us through some parts of the tunnels, and told us about the life of the Vietcong soldiers who lived there. We learned a lot about the hard circumstances they had to live in. We then went on and had a very nice lunch near the river, and after that, we went on towards the liberated area. We closed our tour by visiting the monument honouring 45.000 fallen soldiers, and went back to our hotel. Ethan (and also our driver) is a very friendly guide who knows a lot about these historical sites. Would definitely recommend booking a tour with him!
Response from the operator: Xin chao! Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We are truly delighted to hear that you and your girlfriend had such a meaningful and educational experience exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels and Liberated Area with Ethan (Luan). We are especially happy that his historical knowledge, storytelling, and friendly personality helped bring Vietnam’s history to life throughout the journey. It’s wonderful to know that the stops along the way, including the lacquer workshop and memorial sites, added even more depth and understanding to your experience. Your recommendation truly means a lot to both Ethan and our entire team. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back to Vietnam again in the future! Asiana Link Team.

An educational trip
This is a trip not to miss - it was a history lesson and an exploration of the horrors of war. The guide - Nam - was very helpful and knew a lot. I think everyone who thinks war is the solution to problems should be made to go here… it was interesting and alarming at the same,e time to see how the resistance soldiers lived and fought back. Logistically, the trip was well organised, lots of communications before the trip, pickup was on time, as was drop off. There was also a short stopover at a lacquer factory/shop was a great way to buy souvenirs while supporting those who had been disabled by poisons unleashed during the war.
Response from the operator: Xin chao! Thank you very much for your thoughtful and meaningful review. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience visiting the Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels with us. We are very happy to hear that Nam helped make the tour both educational and memorable through his knowledge and helpfulness. The Cu Chi Tunnels are indeed a powerful place to better understand the realities and impact of war, and we are glad the experience left such a deep impression on you. We also appreciate your kind comments about the organization and communication before the trip, as well as the meaningful stop at the lacquer workshop supporting those affected by the war. Thank you once again for your support, and we hope to welcome you back to Vietnam in the future. Asiana Link Team.

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ho Chi Minh City.
How much does Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip) cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ho Chi Minh City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip) take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ho Chi Minh City is not rushed.
Is Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 185 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ho Chi Minh City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip)?
+
Around 65 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ho Chi Minh City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ho Chi Minh City and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Cu Chi - Ben Duoc Tunnels & Liberated Area (Day Trip) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ho Chi Minh City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
On Outty we rank every Ho Chi Minh City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta Tour From HCM, Cu Chi Tunnels Small-Group Tour: Vietnam War Underground Network, Cu Chi underground tour - Learn Vietnam war with others. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ho Chi Minh City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
