We had a bad experience with this...

We had a bad experience with this group, the only bad experience of all the tours we booked.
I had booked the tour weeks in advance for 2:00 PM in the afternoon. They called at 9:00 AM the day of the tour and wanted to know where we were as they said the tour was booked at 9:00 AM. I checked and saw the confirmation I had was for 2:00 PM. The women said she would call the office and sort it out. I called them back after an hour and she said that the tour was at 2:00 PM. I then re-confirmed the pick up which was the private dock at the Palazzo where we stayed and she said she would meet us there and I had booked this particular tour as is states they will pick up your group by boat at the nearest dock.
I received a call 2 hours later that the factory was having a special function and we could not go until 3:00 PM. We were waiting at the dock at 3:00 to be picked up and they call and wanted to know where were. i repeated the same address from my original confirmation and had given her earlier that day as well. She argues that she is there and we are not, she was at the wrong address!! She then tells us she can't pick us up at our dock as their boat is not licensed to to do so. She finally shows up and make us walk 20 minutes to their dock. I would not have booked with this group as there were others who did provide hotel pick up by boat.
The factory itself was spectacular and Peter the guide had arranged for some workers to stay and finish a piece for us. That was amazing. but the group that operates this tour is incompetent and the listing on Viator is not accurate.

My wife and I highly recommend this...

My wife and I highly recommend this tour for anyone even remotely interested in glass, jewelry or decoration. We were picked up at our hotel, and escorted to the boat slip just a few minutes away. Our boat driver, Pietro, was very friendly and informative on our way to Murano. Our guide in Murano was Peter probably also Pietro in Italian. He first took us to the glassworks where we watched a master and his assistants, all members of his family, making crystal chandeliers. Then we toured the store which featured works by all of the island's masters and others. WOW!!!

Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands cost?

+

Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Cruise: Murano and San Francesco del Deserto Islands start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

+

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
