Our tour was much enjoyed, lead by a woman tour guide (I’m unsure of her name sorry) who grew up in Rome so it was really insightful to hear of her experiences growing up in these areas. She knew some small details which we may not have got from other guides. Extremely informative we were very happy to have her showing us around.

Private vs group benefits
This was our second Private Tour with Through Eternity and we felt that it was well worth the money if you can do it! With the private tour we navigated crowds with agility and found quiet spots (in the shade!) to discuss the various sights. The private tour allows for a back and forth conversation that just cannot happen on a group tour. Santi provided insights throughout the tour. And he was quick to help us and watch out for our needs which I am so grateful for!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for choosing Through Eternity Tours again! It means a lot to us that you returned for a second private tour and found the experience to be well worth it. One of the greatest advantages of a private tour is exactly what you described—the flexibility to move comfortably through busy sites, find quieter spaces to pause and reflect, and enjoy meaningful conversations along the way. We're especially pleased to hear that Santi helped make your experience so memorable. His knowledge, attentiveness, and genuine care for his guests are qualities we greatly value, and we're delighted that you felt supported and looked after throughout the tour. We'll be sure to pass along your kind words to him. Thank you again for your trust in us, and we hope to welcome you back for a third adventure the next time you're in Rome!

Outstanding Guide for the Colosseum and Roman Forum
We had an outstanding experience with Through Eternity Tours during our private Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill tour. Our guide, Gracelyn Monaco, was exceptional. She was incredibly patient with our family of 8, including our younger children, and did a fantastic job keeping both the kids and adults engaged throughout the entire experience. Her knowledge of Roman history, the Colosseum, gladiators, the Forum, and Palatine Hill was excellent, and she explained everything in a way that was informative, engaging, and easy to follow. She also handled our group wonderfully when we needed a bathroom break and moved a little slower than expected, even generously extending the tour by about 20 minutes so we never felt rushed. The tour was one of the highlights of our time in Rome. We would highly recommend Gracelyn and Through Eternity Tours to anyone visiting the Colosseum and Forum, especially families traveling with children.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re delighted to hear that your private Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill tour was such a highlight of your time in Rome. Gracelyn Monaco will be thrilled to know how much her patience, warmth, and expertise contributed to your family’s experience. It’s especially lovely to hear how well she balanced engaging both the children and adults, and made Roman history come alive in such an accessible and enjoyable way. We’re also glad her flexibility and care helped ensure the tour remained comfortable and stress-free for everyone in your group. Thank you for recommending both Gracelyn and Through Eternity Tours. We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you and your family again on another adventure in the future!

Amazing day in Rome!
Thomas Robinson was our tour guide and he did an amazing job explaining all that we were seeing. We were so impressed with not only his knowledge, but his ability to tie everything together. Could not recommend more!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill cost?
+
Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Colosseum Tour with Gladiator Arena Floor, Forum and Palatine Hill start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
