    Brigitte was such a...

Brigitte was such a delight when touring us around the Christmas markets in Vienna. She was very knowledgeable and we appreciated her little tidbits of history throughout the night. She was very engaging and personable. Not many tour guides care to ask for the individual names of their clients, but Brigitte made sure that was the first thing she found out when she met us! She was very patient while we were walking and we aren’t used to walking in Vienna’s winter weather, so it was nice to feel like we weren’t being rushed around. Brigitte is aware that some of Vienna’s sights and happenings are being catered to the increased tourism in the city, so she made sure to show us and bring us to places that exhibited the authenticity of Viennese way of life. Before leaving us for the night, Brigitte made sure to give us specific directions for the quickest route back to our AirBnB where she met us. Would definitely recommend for future tours!!

Response from the operator: Liane, thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback about your evening at Vienna’s Christmas markets. Brigitte takes great care to combine clear historical insight with an authentic sense of local life, and it’s wonderful to hear that her attentive, personal approach added to your experience. She values creating a relaxed pace, especially in winter, and ensuring guests feel oriented and well looked after. We appreciate your recommendation and are glad the tour offered a genuine introduction to Vienna’s seasonal traditions.

    Loved the Christmas market tour!

Great way to see several Christmas markets in Vienna as well as hear some history and see the sights. Walter was a great guide! Definitely recommend!

Response from the operator: Kelly, thank you for joining me on a Christmas market walk in Vienna. Even when the weather is less cooperative, it’s a pleasure to introduce the city at this time of year, when the lights, markets, and traditions create a very special atmosphere. I’m glad you enjoyed the mix of history, sights, and seasonal flair. Your recommendation is much appreciated.

More Than A Simple Market Tour!

Travelers should know that this tour is much better and deeper than a simple Christmas Market tour. Walter is a scholarly tour guide who took us to numerous Christmas Markets, big and small; public and remote; old and newer. He shared concepts about Paris architecture, politics, culture, international influences, food, city government and infrastructure. We loved every minute and will book again next year. Best tour of our trip!

Response from the operator: Kerry, thank you for this wonderful review! It is a true privilege to welcome guests to Vienna during the season of festive lights, when the city’s traditions and stories shine brightest. Our tours are most rewarding at the start of a stay, weaving together history, anecdotes, and sparkling surprises in one evening stroll. I’m delighted you felt the depth and variety of the experience. Vienna shines differently in every season—spring, summer, or fall—and each brings its own charm. We’re thrilled at the thought of welcoming you back soon!

Brigitte was an AMAZING tour guide. She was very personable, passionate and friendly! A perfect start to our vacation. She gave us amazing recommendations to help us navigate our vacation!

Response from the operator: Aubree, thank you for your “enthusiastic” feedback! Brigitte epitomizes our style in presenting our hometown! Her cosmopolitan life-experience and her empathy are the benefits of a long career. To empower our guests for an own Vienna experience is the underlying idea for all our curated tours. Happy Holidays

Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.

How much does Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna cost?

    +

Prices start at $275 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.

Is Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Christmas Markets Walking Tour Vienna start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Vienna?

    +

On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Vienna?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
